I was there for both the spring and fall races in 2006. It is definitely a sweet track!

Not much into NASCRAP anymore because of how everything has changed to make it more even. Bristol at night is the one race I don't mind watching as when the sparks fly (both literally and figuratively) it is interesting to watch. I normally like watching the Daytona 500, but this years 500 was a snoozefest with the 2 car drafts.
I am more into circle dirt track sprint car racing (modifieds, bombers, and super stocks also). Most of the sprint car racers that are local actually lose money when they race.

I like watching figure 8 racing when the have to drive through fire and jump over cages full of bunnies and puppies......especially when they are driving ice cream trucks.

It helps when you've got the machine setup for sure. I've always had the most terrible time with my wire feed. Then I made a ginormous extension cord so I could always keep the torch lead straight. What a difference.
I like the schoolbus races better.

My brother spent quite a few years working with Michigan State University, and the Department of Energy testing various grain drying systems. It wasn't uncommon to test 3 or 4 different dryers in a season for a couple of years.
Dad bought a small batch dryer, and used it for the better part of 20 years while he was still trying to make money on shelled corn. The dryer sat in the machine shop, under cover, unless it was set up on the pad, drying corn in the fall.
Once Dad gave up on shelled corn, he listed it for sale in a couple of Michigan farm pubs. One gent that called him on it thought he was asking an awful lot of money for a 20 year old dryer. "Unless it was drying corn in the fall, it's sat in the corner of the shop, under cover and out of the weather."
The guy was in the farm yard the next morning, with a wad of cash for it.

I hear ya Jeff...I have a lot of old equipment (all I can honestly afford) but as long as it is serviced and taken care of and kept under roof, it always seems to treat me good. My equipment is somewhat symbolic of me...not in the best shape but gets the job done and cleans up pretty good on occassion!

Rally is okay, but I have never been much of a fan of it. But yeah, Dirt circle track>Rally>drag racing> any other form of racing > NASCRAP (or pavement circle track racing that is similiar to NASCRAP {exception is the modifieds they run on pavement in the south}).
Any racing that doesn't preliminarily rely on drafting to get you to the front and has more driver skill is better. Throw Danica or any other NASCRAP driver in a sprint car or modified on dirt (that did not come from dirt) and lets see how they drive.
