Important

Like I said, no worries.

On another note, I may actually be tired of winter. It's snowing again but its fun to drive in though I think I'll bike to work today.

I had full intentions on calling you, but I kinda forgot. If you don't make it next year, I should set a reminder on the phone.

Things have not been good vehicular-wise for me since I got home. My car has a power steering leak, bad. The Jeep has a red brake warning light that likes to come and go and now I noticed there's something wrong with the front Aussie. I don't know if the brake issue is at all *very doubtful* related, but I tried a bit of brake torquing and it sounded like the passenger side axle was spinning but the driver's side wasn't and the Aussie was doing it's ratcheting sound pretty damn loud. So, I'm thinking my springs popped out of the locker or something. I have no clue, but I'm not happy.

Hahaha no worries

I went wheelin' Saturday and nothing important fell off the jeep. Given how I treated it, that's about all I can ask!

I was rather happy that the rear suspension stayed attached at winterfest.

small miracles.

I am always happy when the front end doesn't fall off the xjbuggypopcan...

same, something in the back is making some really gross rattling creaking noises. I got under it and threw my weight around and couldn't see anything important moving that wasn't, so I went and beat the tar out of it on the trail and it stayed together. Making more noise now though :dunno:

The fact that my frame and floor replacements and replaced shackle box that I welded from 1/8" angle, 1/4" plate, and 3/16" fish plate with a 90 amp fluxcore is still standing up to my abuse is pretty amazing. Not sure if the dinky welder or my welding skills are the scarier part of that.

I know I called ya, but I don't remember the conversation. Maybe Dan knows something I don't about the bus! I have a handfull of NAXJA numbers and I'm honestly shocked I didn't call more people.

where in SW KS are ya? I used to live in Ulysses but my territory was from Dodge City to eastern Colorado.

Well, not in Kansas, I'm in Chicago. I do research on the sand hills along the Arkansas River between Garden City and Holly, Colorado. Looking at how old they are and how they formed. Interesting place that piece of KS and really nice people too. I'll be out there again this June for my final research trip. Ever make it out to the dunes park near Syracuse?

Where the HELL have you been?
Post up in here more often....

Where have I been? Graduate school learning to be a better fool. :D Almost done too. I'll come back in due time...

I know that streatch of the Arkansas all to well. I checked crop fields all along it. Especially from Holly to north and east of Ulysses....damn, harldy anyone knows of Holly, CO. it was always dry when i lived out there so there was a lot of ATV traffic in the dry beds in the sand. So glad I moved back to missouri to see trees adn water again!

Freakin' small world. It was a lot dryer recently because of the drought that lasted from '98 to '07. I've been wanting to drive down the river channel where it is dry between Lakin and Deerfield, haven't done it mostly cause I'm concerned I'll get stuck. Illinois plates in that part of the world are a sure sign that "you ain't from around here" and news travels faster then the speed of light. I want to get down to Ulysses and further south into the Llano estacado of OK and TX to poke around. That is some flat land with some great history (and geology).
