Important

Was it burnin' a hole in yer pocket?

Not really. I couldn't really find anything else I needed from rustys. Why else would I buy a chair? Hahahahaha! :D

I'm suprised you didn't buy some more obnoxiously bright lights :dunce:

I'm good in the lighting department! :D I could upgrade the lightforces to HID but that's 260..........no thanks.

Re: not-so-Important

This thread doesn't die. I'm impressed. :D

Good to see you're still around! Thought maybe you got lost in a cave and never got out!

Yes...

Your tire deflators were pretty trick, so I decided I'd grab a set since they're free.

Cave? No. Working on a PhD and preoccupied with a 2-year old? Yes. I've still got the Jeep and it is still going strong with 230,000+ on the OD. It is now a great vehicle for my research in rural SW Kansas; running ruts and stomping on rattle-snakes.

Interestingly, there are two nicely mod'ed XJ in my neighborhood. One just down my street and one I see on my walk to/from the el. There is also one often parked on Taylor St. between my office and near a place I like to eat lunch. I'm temped to leave notes on these people's vehicles.

where in SW KS are ya? I used to live in Ulysses but my territory was from Dodge City to eastern Colorado.

So......looks like i'm gonna try to buy a house soon.........Can't stand my roommate any longer!

I am bored this morning, so I thought I would share my story from last night!

So my brother and I are cruising back to his house, I picked him up from work. We took our usual path, back roads past the funny colored house. Right about where the 45mph sigh sits is the crest of a small rolling hill.
As I ascent the summit, I see the red truck parked kind of in his driveway, looks like his grabbing his mail before driving up to his house. As the tan Lexus SUV thing passes the truck, and gets closer to me, he dips it into the right-hand ditch. Cuts it hard to his left to avoid an 'Adopt a Highway' signs, which sat on a 6x6, at shoots all the way across both lanes, behind me by about 15 feet or so, and comes to rest to rest in the snowbank in Funny-Colored-Houses side yard.

So I whip it around to go make sure he was alright. As I pull up, the Red F-150 is stopped talking to him. Turns out it was a 16 year old kid driving his parents SUV, he had his little brother with him in the car, must have been round 10. The kid was screaming, he turned around, lost control, and launched that thing half way across the road. Stuck in the snowbank up to the frame.

The driver was freaking out about wrecking his parents Lexus, but luckily everyone was unhurt. I didn't have my tow strap with me, so I asked Mr. Red Truck if he could give the kid a quick pull out of the ditch. He says 'I got a strap, but nowhere to tie it to on my truck' Seemed odd...a brand new Ford truck..and no recovery point or anything? :dunno:

So I threw that strap on my truck, gave it the beans, and pulled that Lexus right outta that ditch!

All said and done, it was quite scary, and could have ended a lot worse. The kids SUV looked pretty good, not much damage to be seen. Made my day to have a guy stand and watch me yank a truck out of the ditch that cost close to 20 times more, and weighs a thousand more pounds.

After this, my brother and I went to his house, smoked cigarettes and drank scotch on the patio :smoker:

There is still dust and mud from Fall Crawl on my dashboard. That was in September.

I never use the rear windows, just the mirrors (97-up mirrors rock my world) front windows and rearview.

I had to drive the baby jeep to the part time yesterday so sunday night after i got unloaded i took it to the car wash...usually it sits dirty for a couple weeks after winterfest...the buggy will be dirty til its over 60 degrees and i have two hours to use the power washer...
