still broke.

houses are even more efficient money pits than jeeps and women

After my flat tire put me 2 hrs behind, 2 hrs to have a filter changed which wasn't the problem. Final decision is the turbo. Waiting for the replacement tractor, still.

Ford 6.0s? Yay or nay? I've read a lot of mixed reviews, but the 06 - 08 King Ranch Edition F250/350's are looking good and not too terribly priced either.

Well it looks like everyone is going back to the 7.3s now, hah! The 6.0s got a bad rap early on but an 06-08 will not have the problems that the early ones had. They make good power for their size, have a 5-speed trans (auto), and seem to be a little nicer all around than the 7.3s (my 7.3 isn't a Lariat though). Plus coil sprung front axle. I'd say it's a nice way to fly if you can find one for a decent price. When I was looking I didn't see many cheap ones.

the later 6.0's are fine. I jsut went to the 7.3 b/c they are proven and it was within the range I wanted to spend. I am doing the whole Dave Ramsey thing and paying off debt like crazy, so i did not want any additional payments. I would have loved oto of had a KR edition, but my Lariat is working fine for an old farm truck.

No problems with the one in my van, but I've only put 30k miles on it.

I hope they fixed the earlier problems, because my warranty is almost over. :scared:

The ranch king interiors look amazing until they get a little dirty. Then they look like a dirty boot. Ive heard alot bad about the 6.0 and not much good. The first thing I would do would be the EGR delete. I havent heard much bad about the 7.3. Im stil a 7.3 fan.

*Like*

We buckled down and paid off everything (except the house) about 10 years ago, and I have to say that I enjoy my stuff alot more when it's paid for. It frees up something inside that's hard to put a finger on, but it's there. I need to get motivated and start really knocking out this mortgage. Stick with it...you won't regret it!

all this diesel talk..and I forgot to plug mine in last night...-7 here this morning so there is no way in hell that cold natured sob is gonna crank. Good thing we have a few Jeeps around here that always start! Red Rocket to the rescue today.

-13 here & the Grand popped right off. Can't say the same for the g/f's Honda.

I think you should have tried it anyway! With you having new glow plugs I'd think it would start without too much complaining or shaking. Can't remember what temp the owner's manual says to plug it in at. It is nice to just jump in a gasser in the morning and not deal with starting it, injector noise, and taking forever to heat up. I bought a sweet-ass '95 Cutlass Supreme this weekend that will be the new daily driver so I don't have to deal with the diesel issues for a while.
