What blizzard? 6" here and that's about all we'll get. School's not canceled.

When I was at Michigan Tech, Jeff can probably attest, prior to me attending school was only actually canceled once. In the three years I was there it got canceled twice. There were other times that were "optional" days, meaning if you could make it out of your driveway you could go and teachers really didn't expect you to be there so many canceled their class without it being an official snowday. 18 inches and wind/extreme cold overnight will do that, it's expected when you log 300 or more inches of snow in a winter.

So I go out to the storage unit to drop some shit off and take pictures of some rims. I get back home and check for the camera I thought was in my pocket and I find the lock for the storage unit in my pocket instead. BACK OUT TO THE STORAGE UNIT!

MTU... when you expect 200 to 300 inches of snowfall annually, 6" is a minor flurry. I think classes were cancelled once when I was there in the early 80s, and that was for in excess of a foot per hour. IIRC there was a Chem101 exam that day, and was the prof pissed off at the cancellation.

and text while you are doing it.

and eat salad :D

it's more to do with how prepared the area is. the U.P. is prepared for, and know how to drive in lots of snow. I'm in the middle of the state and they do pretty good at clearing the roads. Get down further south where their idea of a snow plow is a road grader, well then that's when 3" can shut down the whole state.

Fore 'media has got everyone (not me) scared' Wheeler

it may look like i dont know what im doing when i drive in the snow, but i just like to whip it sideways like that
yeah I drove the 2wd MJ to work today... so many idiots sideways, on the wrong side of the road, trying to go uphill and not moving, etc.

I have mismatched tires on the rear and an open diff, so at some points I was driving at like a 30 degree angle to the road, but going perfectly straight down the lane. Had to clear an accident out of the road to get past it (dumbass lady who couldn't make it uphill and slid into the oncoming lane, then parked it and turned the flashers on... vs a macho dude in a ratty 2wd pickup who decided to try and go between her and the snowbank and gassed the hell out of it at exactly the wrong moment.)

how did you lock the camera onto the door?

That's what I was thinking, then the storage unit owner called and says, "were you out here and forgot to put your lock back on?" Shows how my Tuesday is going so far.

I was happier than a midget in a room full of hot women without panties on! :D

Here's how she turned out for those who haven't seen it on the facebooks:

that thing looks more and more trail rig everytime I see it.

When are you cutting it up?

Here are some winter storm pics:

It looks like snow covering the windsheild wipers, but its so dense I can drive over my yard and not leave a mark on it.

After 5 minutes of chipping away I gave up. I keep my door open while I drived it down to my barn to park in over night.

you NEED to cut the rear fenders. it looks better when it's cut with out the flares. IMO.

Yeah, I am going to do that. I think my dad and I are gonna take up a father/son project and build some tube flares for it......He just doesn't know it yet. Hell, he has a plasma and a Miller welder sitting in his garage, it needs some use! :D

Getting a set of lower quarter guards from a dude here in town so I think Its gonna be flareless until we get some tube flares built.

As soon as he rolls it? :looser:

Im bringing the sawsall to WF

Yay! Drunken sawzall party!

Looks about like what we got, with another 3/4" of ice forecasted in the next 24 hours.

87 "plans to not have electricity" manche

Yeesh. Ya'll can keep that ice crap, I'll stay up here with the dry powder. I just finished clearing the slab(300'x8',) didn't even break a sweat.

Last night, took me about 30 minutes to scrap my windshield and side windows and one mirror. It is pouring down sleet right now and we have an ice storm warning. I didn't get my plastic bag on my door handle so I have can get in if I have to. At least scraping will be a min. on windshield and side windows.
