Mine are too, but it's because I didn't have any suitably sized 3/8-16 hardened bolts when I got to putting it back together. It was 9pm, I was completely soaked in transmission fluid, coolant, fuel, and oil, and it was pouring rain (so anything that wasn't soaked with some oil base was soaked with water and mud.) No stores were open so I tossed it back together and put the drivetrain back in.Actually no.
It was a really good idea.
Back in my Jamboree days I had a chance to speak with one of the engineers that built the XJ. The bolt is there because it is the hardest to get to, and they wanted a bolt that you could get a socket on without seeing it, and know it was on square and would not slip.
Mine are still there for that reason.

Honestly, now that I have the socket, I don't really care either way. I can do a CPS in 10 minutes sitting on the side of the road with my usual toolkit, so that's not really a big deal either.
You should hear an old military truckI got the 5" turbo back exhaust (muffler delete) installed and welded up this morning. Holly crap is it loud. I'm all for loud roaring exhausts but this thing is insane.
