Important

Some OOT'er was jonesing like crazy over my waggy. I shot him what I thought was a stupid price on it.. He is seriously interested in it. Looks like I may be back in the market for a P/U. Think I am gonna look for a extended cab truck like I should have bought back in the spring. It will be a gasser though.. I'm not ready to run with you diesel boys...

That was just a sick joke, had to be!

Actually no.

It was a really good idea.

Back in my Jamboree days I had a chance to speak with one of the engineers that built the XJ. The bolt is there because it is the hardest to get to, and they wanted a bolt that you could get a socket on without seeing it, and know it was on square and would not slip.

Mine are still there for that reason.

That might be the case but damn it takes 2 men and half a boy to work the 13 1/2' of extensions with a swivel on the end to reach it.

I've been wanting to show this off but too lazy to get it to photobucket. My 13yr old wanted to build something for his Mom for Christmas. So I took him to the local lumber yard and picked out the plank that he wanted. We were both drawn to the zebrawood. After 10 mins of digging through the pile we found the perfect piece. 75 bucks later we were out the door. For the rest of it we used scrap ply we found around his grandpas cabinet shop. Sprayed it with a Dover white lacquer we were spraying a customers kitchen cabinets with. Gave it a couple coats of clear and it looks tits. My son probably did 75% of the work to it. I just had to brag on my kid a bit he did a hell of a job on this.

Time for me to go buy a lottery ticket. One of the freeway banner signs (last one I pass on the way to work) noted an accident on my commute, I could already see the backup starting, so I dodged off at the ramp right there. Saw the blockage, and that traffic was moving well after it, so I got back on..... and discovered that I managed to avoid 2 more accidents on the side streets in the last 3 miles to work. All told, managed to avoid 3 separate accident sites in 5 miles.
Well, there goes my luck. Lost brakes on the CTD on the way home, I suspect a rear cylinder is gone.

Chris, your boy did a nice job.

That sucks Jeff, at least you did not slam into someone.

No kidding, Tyler. Not a catastrophic failure, fortunately. A stick shift helps a bunch.

Just doing some CL surfing for pick-ups....

Why is it every mid 90's Chuvy with a tree-fiddy has "rebuilt in the last 10,000 miles" in the ad.

I got the 5" turbo back exhaust (muffler delete) installed and welded up this morning. Holly crap is it loud. I'm all for loud roaring exhausts but this thing is insane.
