I have a mag base dial indicator that I uesd to setup my detroit.

it's in the basement somewhere. If you don't mind waiting a week for me to find it I will drop it in the mail to you.
Loan, or sell? If you're interested in selling it, sure. I'd like to keep one around.

just got a call from wifey that there is smoke in the shop...had me scared that the place was on fire...but now I am really upset b/c she said that the keg fridge has died....everything else, including the nacho machine, was OK, but that ol' fridge has a long history w/ me and my liver. We go back to my sophmore year of college. I will assess the damage when I get home, but I am already looking for a replacement. If I get home in time and the damage is just a burnt up compressor etc, I can still save the tap and beer..and maybe have it cooled and pressurized by dark!

For the love of God, please save the beer! :bawl:

Save the Beer!

The beer will survive warming up and chilling down again. It's under pressure, and there shouldn't be that much O2 in the keg.

how's give sound?

I owe the MWC some karma for all that you guys have done for me.

It's not likely that I'm ever setting up gears again anyway.

Hokay..... looks like we turn into the MWC's floating dial indicator, then. I'll drop you a PM with the shipping info.

I'll stand you to a tasty beverage if I get the opportunity.

It was my time to renew with verizon they offered me a Droid for $50......I got a gzone brigade instead, water and shock proof.......

I got a contract for a basement remodel signed today, the first one this year :wow:

But I can't start until July 6, so to kill time until then, I'll be doing repairs and re-sealing our 1600 square feet of brick paver driveway. Pressure washing the whole thing, then pulling out bricks in areas where it's settled and adding more torpedo sand, sweeping sand back into all the joints, and applying sealer...

Way to go John, You've been needing that!

My contract isn't up for renewal until October, don't think this POS will make it that long!

I'll be in the market for a new phone soon. I'd love a smartphone but, I have a real hard time paying $80+/month for it. We pay that now for 2 phones but, we won't be renewing Wyfies as her employer is taking care of her on their own plan. So.......it'll just be me on my own.

Well, after fighting the brakes for a few days, my shiny new engine got me all the way to work Thursday:

...but only halfway back home again:

Apparently that romp-stompin renix was just too much power for the rear ujoint:

Rotten Friday Recap:

So I caught a cab the rest of the way home, hooked up the truck and trailer in the dark to fetch the XJ. By then it was nearly 1am, so I didn't bother to unload it.

Bright and early Friday morning, I borrowed her Exploder to run to Smyth's for a new joint. When I got back, I decided not to push the damaged shaft any more, and just do the repairs with the jeep still on the trailer.

Unfortunately, once I pulled the shaft, I found that the ears were pretty banged up:

I wasn't sure if I should reuse it, so I went to install my spare shaft.

That's when I discovered that the spare driveshaft I've been carrying for two or three years was at least three or four inches short. Wish I could remember who sold that to me...

So I thought I'd just use the 4x to get the rig off the trailer, using the front axle. Of course, my old 231 refuses to engage unless I'm rolling about 2-3mph, so try as I might, that was another no-go.

Sooo... i pulled my front shaft to install it in the rear. Got it bolted back in and... (wait for it) the g@&d@##*& jeep wouldn't start.

Sooo... I traced it to a sticky starter relay. The starter relay, mind you, that I really WANTED to replace when I did the engine, but the partsdrone at Advance couldn't get me the right one. So I cleaned and reused mine.

I smacked it around some to free it up (and relieve some stress) and managed to fire it up and limp the thing back into the garage.

I dropped the trailer so i could get to work an hour early, for an oh-so-important safety meeting where they could inform us that hexavalent chromium is, in fact, bad for you.

Then an hour dismantling a nitric acid line, and six straight hours on an 8' ladder, in a 120* building, rebuilding a hot oil valve.

Some days it just doesn't pay to get out of bed.

Robert

Rev and I both have Droids and really love them. It's the best phone I have ever had. It's $30 more for the date plan, and we kept our same "package" otherwise.

You have teh RENIX?

Dont' bother with the weirdo renix starter relay, it's terribly expensive. I rewired mine with a regular 4 pin relay years ago. It's not hard, if you want I can go olook at what color wires go where, it's been so long since I did it I couldn't tell you.
