My camera is a dinosaur. (quickly approaching 8 years old)It's a Kodak DX7590, it's nothing that spectacular but, it gets the job done. I paid $500 for it "back in the day". It'll be replaced with a DSLR when it finally dies.

The one I had get ripped off from me was a Nikon Coolpix. 7.0 megapixel, 6x digital zoom, 3x optical, SD card, took video longer than 30 seconds. I payed a hundo for it new. I really thought it was a good camera for the price.

I bought the Woman a Canon SLR EOS Rebel XSI with 4 different lenses tripod and case for $1200 new about 2 years ago. I can't buy one of her lenses now for less than $900. Takes awesome pics but damned if I know how to use it. Give me a cheap box store camera that I would know how to use. Of course that was before the 14% pay cut and yearly bonuses were still given out.

I know once I 'cage mine... (Yes that's in the plans) I will remove parts of the roof. There are times when I look at a Wrangler with the top down and wish I had that, then I think about it and know that I took the smart route.
A removable hard top is the best of both worlds IMO. I'd love to have an MJ with a removable hard top, even if you got caught in the rain it wouldn't be too bad, pull over and move the top from the bed to the roof and keep going.

so where does that leave me? I've got 4 door doors, but there are only 2 of them?
MJ > 2dr XJ / 4dr XJ. There is no challenging this equation.

2 doors, but with all the junkyard scavenging benefits of 4 doors.

I forgot: I needed a 2dr/4.0/aw4/231.

With the vent windows.

They just make a two-door, if you ask me.

And an MJ is better than a 4dr, but you still can't stick your elbow out the window like you can in a twodoor.

Just got back to getting around to getting online after being gone for the weekend...my truck is still at the ford dealer in Indy for those keeping score on facebook...

All this YJ talk...a buddy from work called me and told me that he was wanting to sell his YJ...the option list reads like a wet dream.
95, 4.0, 5sp, factory hard top, factory a/c, 139k, new tires...

has a little rust but looks to be generally in decent shape for age. he wants 3k for it, but he told me his bottom dollar for me...but, wanting me to find someone to buy it, i want to buy it...

3k seems like a fair price right?

so i'm gonna try to sell the zj and see if i can get at least half the purchase price...

I have been given the official go-ahead to take a mobile A/C unit from work. So once I get an exhaust vent ran, I should have garage A/C. :greensmok

The trick is that you can't drink, and then go work on the Jeep. You've got to get just a little bit of work in, first, then crack the first beer. Of course after 5 or 6 you'll probably still say screw it.

So I lost my digital camera years ago and have been making do with a phone camera ever since then. I'd like to pick up a real camera again before the crawl. What's an affordable yet decent way to go these days? I had a Canon Powershot before and it seemed to work pretty well.

I ordered a nice Fuji camera off of amazon before WF. I believe the model number is S2000HD. Of course it didn't come in when it was supposed to! Its a nice camera and takes awesome pictures and HD video. it was like $250 for everything including an HD cable for the TV.

Here's the link, it looks like the price went up!

For those of us not in the FB loop, what's wrong with your truck?

Not a bad deal on the YJ IMO. It's my favorite Jeep color scheme, green/tan.

My f450 is done at the dealer, turns out it was a cracked dipstick tube...that broke after i tried to pull it out to check the oil after oil was everywhere...

warranty covered it.

can't go get it til friday tho...

Nice. I filled the 'V' of the engine on my truck with oil yesterday. I changed the P/S fuel injectors, and in doing so removed the turbo. I fired it up to check for leaks without putting the turbo back on, forgetting about the high pressure oil feed to the turbo. Dumped about 2 quarts into the 'V' in about 30 seconds. It's still draining out as I drive.

Guess I shouldn't be worried about the turbo not getting enough oil.

For those of us not in the FB loop, what's wrong with your truck?

Went camping to turkey run over the weekend. On the way home on monday stopped for fuel and had oil pouring out from under the engine compartment on to the ground. Tried to check the oil level with the dipstick and the first 12inches of dipstick tube came out with the dipstick. Later inspection looked like the tube was cracked and had been leaking oil for some time.

Also was puffing some black smoke on take off, had some black crap on my rear fender. Turns out the dpf was bad and they replaced that too while they had it in there.

All for $100 bucks...dealer in Indy.

I had towed a buddys durango for the camping trip, we came home in that monday. I left the single place trailer at the dealer as well so I can bust down there on friday, throw what i drove on the trailer and tow it all home.

The towing setup for the weekend:

this was a little disheartening:

good thing is that ford roadside covered the tow and warranty covered everything else, so i'm only out the $100 deductible for the work and the time lost in getting everything arranged...could be worse...but for the payment I make it still sucks...just a mind boggling break to cause oil loss and loss of forward momentum.

wow, that is a shiney white new AC on the roof top..I am jealous.

it works awesome too!

I'd like to find a clean 2-door for a street jeep. While mine looks decent from a distance, the floors are going, the roof is rusting in several places, and the rear frame rails are kinked near the shackle mount. That said, it's still one of my favorite vehicles I've ever owned, with an initial investment of $500.

Pig Gig announcement in the next day or so..........Tentatively scheduled for Sat. September 4th however, it's not in stone yet.
