That's gotta be worth something Sean. I only had to look for a week to find mine how I wanted it. Power options, no ABS, np242. The 242 took precedence over the stick. When I was looking for another one I found one with a stick that I missed out on by like a day. Good thing I waited, I like the Overland and it'll tow my XJ.

Beef or Chicken, THAT is the question.

I saw that, and laughed a little. We know were the priorities are in the MWC, to the point where driving the XJ takes a back seat.

Rust free and door count are my primary requirements, the rest is bolt on junk that can be swapped or fixed easily.

I guess working ac and a non leaking heater core are also fairly important because it means not having to remove the dash or mess with freon.

Might be joining KSXJ in the YJ outcast club. Trade pending.

You can't have a Why-J without asking... "Why?"

I saw a 4-cylinder 5-speed on 31s listed for $4200 the other day.

If that 2dr up in Laporte is still around in a week I might be making a run up there... for a wheelin rig I wouldn't be after the 5-speed but I think it'd be alright for winter driving and the occasional parking block at the mall.

what about me and the Barbie Jeep? I feel so left out! :rattle:

True, but your XJ is still your main wheeler. This will be replacing my XJ.

Meh, why not. My XJ sits in the drive 95% of the time and never gets used and frankly I'm bored with it. The next step in it's build would be to lop the roof off and I don't want to do that. I'll drive the YJ all summer and park the truck. Nothing is solid yet, we'll see what happens.

I actually have been wheeling the YJ daily for cattle chores since the XJ is in the shop still getting it "make over" :D I have been tearing it up w/ the 31 BFG A/T's and no lift!

I am just giving you a hard time, it says in the bylaws here that we have to make fun of Wranglers. :D

The "real frame" thing is increasingly appealing to me... but they are always so damn expensive. Just make sure the rear leaf hangers aren't about to rip off, like most of the older ones.

The "real frame" thing doesn't make me want to pay that kind of premium... I did an awful lot of thinking while de-rusting my '96, if I'm going to do anything past frame stiffeners and rocker replacements, I'll build a tube frame.

I came to this conclusion because when I started thinking about chopping it instead of rebuilding the rear frame and floor pans, every time I looked at it I was considering cutting more off till I realized it was a waste of time and I really should just stick the same drivetrain and seats in a tube frame if I was going to do that much work on it.

i just got flipped off......... i guess i was tailgating the guy in front of me cause he brake checked me then got into the turning lane so i looked over and he was waving his hand around like he was mad, so i waved to him and he flipped me off.......... it was great, i still haven't stopped laughing

As much as I want to chop my rig up, I still need to have a roof etc on it for added structure. I am going to see how the cage ties things together, but I am sure after I eventually flop it enough times the chop will be in full swing.
