Important

Last night I added 24' of tube to my jeep, pulled it outside because someone is coming down today to have a cage built.......It wasn't supposed to rain.......and it did, can't wait to see the rust.

That sucks man, I bought a stick to add a few extra cross bars in the cage, I left it on the trailer in the open front machine shed but the humidity etc over the past week has it nicely surface rusted.....man I love the midwest humidity and muggy-ness as of late :D

Summit shipped my new fuel pump Friday.

hopefully this one isn't so damned loud that I can't hear anything in the cab. I'm sure you all could hear it coming down the trail @ WF.

Now my freggin starter won't shut off even when I take the key out of the ignition, have to disconect the battery.

First really nice day in awhile... took the Cub Scouts fishing this morning.. now I am helping getting crap ready for the onslaught of teens for the B-day party. Yet.. the Heep sits leaking axle lube all over the ground.

T case leaking oil out the rear seal... Probably due to the fact I don't have the rear axle shimmed or the DS balanced... hopefully both will be done by August...

Man, what a day.... Drove down to Brian Ho's place to help him cut and bend my roll cage. Also ,picked up a set of his rear frame stiffiners (For my saggin' rear). I was so pumped about gettin' started on the cage, left his house and drove straight home (two hours). Managed to get the pillars set before calling it a day.

Sweet! I'm jealous. It's on my eventual-to-do list.

In other news, I did fire mine yesterday. Idled like crap, and wouldn't rev at all, but it did fire, so I'm happy.

I think I may have gotten the dizzy in one tooth off, so I'll try again tomorrow.

So close I can taste it!

Yup, I could hear it from behind me on Green. Did it end up crapping out on you eventually?

Distributor took me one shot, thanks to some tips from Jeff.

Sooooo. Maybe some of you guys may be able to shine some light on these questions. I drove my jeep today and I got back in it to leave and the shifter would not do anything for me. I looked up top and it was all hooked up. Then I crawled up underneath and the cable was disconnected underneath. I was able to get it hooked back in there and used some wire to hold it together to get me home.

The question is is how hard is it to change that buggar. It looks like it may be a pain in the arse. I was just wondering if anyone had done it and could shed some light on it. Hopefully I can get some pics of it up soon!

I am planning on calling the dealer tomorrow to see if they have a new cable or if you can replace the end that is broken but I am guessing new cable.

changing he cable is not too big of a job. it is all pretty straight forward and you can do it w/ minimal hand tools. you will have to remove the console to get the shifter assembly removed IIRC.

Brad, I took a page from your 'hoe days. Picked up some screen and magnets at Menards for the rear windows on the Jeep since I am sleeping in it tomorrow night.

That is one nice thing about an SUV. If I decide to spend the coin I'm going to get a soft top for my truck bed and start crashing there. And I'll still have to do the screen thing to get a breeze rolling through.

Spend the weekend up at the parent's house. Josh came out Saturday and we did sway links, shocks and brakes on the Ferd. I should have it at the dealer this week to get the steering wander looked at. Harlan is approaching fast...

And every time I see a pic of a 2dr XJ, I have to check craigslist and see if there are any out there for cheap. :D

I searched for six months before I found one the way I wanted (2dr, 6cyl, AW4, 231) and then the kid thought it was gold because he had some 34" biasplies on it.

But I jumped on it, and never looked back! :D

Good luck!
