tech: let me get a steering stabilizer for this thing
me: yea that will fix it
yea buddy we call it death wobble
Wanna look at my 01 when you're done?
Won't return to center, constantly pulling left or right except occasionally when I can get it centered, for about 10 seconds. Feels a little like memory steering, other times feels like there's not enough caster. I've had 3 alignments done and no fix yet. Suspecting ball joints but I don't want to dig into that and I haven't had time to take it in lately. Too busy sitting at work posting on.
And the shop that did the alignment suggested a steering stabilizer for mine, too. I told them they did nothing but hide problems and I should take it off completely to make sure the problem is fixed. Ugh.
I went round and round with something similar...
Mine ended up being the axleshaft ujoint. It didn't sieze up all at once, it'd sorta jam just off center, and pull to one side. Then the shaft would flop 180*, and it'd pull the other way.
Try engaging the 4x4, but not the hubs, to see if you can feel the shafts spinning.

Wifey got some new material to make curtains for the new camper..it is funny that she "asks" me what fabric/patterns I like and I tell her..but she still chooses what she wants :dunno: Maybe it was because I was looking at tropical patters in neon colors..and I also tried for the Al Borland flanel look..did not happen...I have some flooring left from our house, so I am putting in new wood floor and trim to fancy this cream puff up a bit![]()
