Since Ballistic has still not shipped my steering components and rod ends, there will be no wheeling this weekend for me :( I have been working on getting this done on the ol' girl as of late. Got the stiffeys burnt in a few days back, the beadlocks are burnt in, the cage is cut apart and being mocked in place for reinforcements and the outter beadlock rings were supposed to be done with powdercoating today. If they are not done tomorrow I will get them and paint them on my own. Here are a few random pics of the rig...

inner rings tacked and centered before final welding

my mother moved to AZ last year. people out there are stupid rich. anyways some construction company gave her an xj. all it needed was a water pump. anyways it turned out this thing was actually in pretty good shape. (except paint) the clear coat has peeled off but the tan int is like new, runs great, no rust, and has half as many miles as mine. well, she got a different vehicle cause she didnt like the jeep and she gave it to me. so in 2 weeks im flying out there with a buddy and we`re driving it back. its a 95 2dr 2wd 5sp. im gonna swap the 4wheel drive over from my blue 4dr and sell the 4dr as a 2wd. then keep this one to wheel. ill also be adding a 4in lift, swapping my wheels, tires, and bumpers over. what you think? any thoughts or ideas?

had a little road rage this morning, i was cruising at about 70 in the fast lane when a gmc truck comes up on my ass there was no were to get over so i bumped it up to about 75 he was still on my ass hit 80 that's about the limit for me in the XJ he was still there, i saw an opening hit my signal and the jackass went in the at lane hammered down and cut in front of me nearly clipping the front end
then i watched him go right on the back of the person in front of me, then he drove on the shoulder and got around that person, then i watched him cut across all 4 lanes to get off on the next exit
any way the road rage kicked in when i was thinking of getting off on that exit and smashing into the back of him that would of made him late for what ever it was he was driving like an ass for, I weighed out my options pretty good figured if i hit him at about 10-15 mph it would cause massive damage to his truck, and probably a little to mine and cause the cops to come and send both trucks away on a tow truck i may or maynot have been a little sore i had my seat belt on i doubt he did so he probably would have been a little banged up, insurance would have went up for me and i was worried they would total my jeep

any way i decided not to do it , not cause any of the reasons above but because the baby didn't sleep good last night and i didn't want to wake the wife

I knew when my g/f & I bought the house a year ago that the detached garage had a water problem. The concrete slab around the house slopes right into the garage door. Every time it rained, I had standing water inside the garage. There's 1 course of block on top of the slab, and the water never got over an inch deep, so that wasn't a problem, but anything on the floor could be.

Spent the money, and had a trench drain installed this spring. Last night was the first hard rain since it was put in, and I now have a nearly dry garage. There's still a little weeping in under the door (a foot of exposed slab that still has the wrong slope,) but I can live with that.

Still, I have to wonder about the original builder, and the folks who've lived there since. *WHY* would you even consider building something like that? Shoot, the slab really just needed to be a couple of inches lower than the garage to completely stop this problem.

A buddy I used to work with got a job at a 4x4 shop. Word has it, they are flat-rate with enough work to pull down 50 hours a week. I get 20 give or take here, but I'm also hourly. I told him to get me a job there. If that happens (not holding my breath) I'll be taking my retirement fund with me. Then would come a new lift and a CD for the remainder.

that is not nearly as blinding as the first range you posted just seems like too much body for that bright of color

yellow stock < yellow buggy

Turns out that a buddy of mine used to install garage doors...he's coming over today with hopefully new cables for the garage door...i'm tired of going out of the other door, its a pita...

and I got a line on a popup truck camper that someone at my parents church has. we are going on a camping trip in june and he's going to let me borrow it...if its what i think it is...his price is in my range...

mac 'ready to ditch the tent' gyvr

So, what you're saying, Mac.... is that you're gonna be a less in-tents individual? :D
