Mac.....build a bunk and sleep in the trailer.

Rev

not my trailer to build a bunk...

and one buggy always sleeps in the trailer, if rosco wants to sleep in the trailer with his wife then there is pretty much no room for anyone else...

and even then i'm still sleeping in a tent when i'm towing my open place trailer(s)...

yeah, our 1/2 ton Tahoe got a minimum of 10 mpg when towing the XJ and when things were lightly loaded and wind to our back we have got as good as 15mpg with it. I love the pulling power of the lower gears in the 3/4 ton and the added ammenities for travel (heated leather blah blah blah...), but my truck is a daily work truck and I NEED 4 wheel drive. If I were buying a truck as a DD and did not have to use it each day as a work vehicle, I would no doubt have a 2 wheel drive 1/2 ton for function and comfort. Where Mike's trcuk is the same body (crew/SB) as mine, I know that they ride great due to wheel base and I personally love the interior creature comforts of a Chevy. Everytime I go to the pumps..I just shake my head and think..I choose this!! But once I jump back in the drivers seat I am glad I did!!

Yep, everyone's situation is different. I'd like to have 4wd but, truthfully, I really don't need it. It was all I could do to talk myself into buying it in the first place. We're in the whole "save cash-bigger house" mode. Buying a truck certainly didn't help that cause any.

As long as you're happy with what you have as a tow rig, that's really all that matters. For what I use my truck for and what I need to do with it, it does all that I want it to. So far, I have no complaints.

Kinda looking forward to what mileage I'll get with the dub pulling the XJ. If Tahoe's were doing that good...

Went to look at a trailer today. It's an 18 foot dual axle gooseneck trailer (7,000#). New deck, fresh paint. Needs new wood for the dovetail, and LED lights. Other then that its in very good shape. Dealer wants $2,000 for it. I think I will wait a month or so, till work fully picks up, then go back and see if it's still there. If it is, I'll probably offer him $1,500 - $1,800 for it.

Case had his first t-ball practice this evening...he is actually really good..good thing he got his mothers atheletic prowess and my charming good looks :D

I think it is b/c mac and I have 8 lug nuts...it is all about the lug nuts....I had a Ford F250 and it got bad milage too, it had the 5.4 in it as well but once again it had 8 lug nuts....

I pulled off 12 when I hauled my Jeep down to attica for W/F and I've got 8 lugs. Then again, I do have my 2500 tuned and I kept it between 65-70.

Well tonights been interesting, I am now pushing 22 hours on 5 hours of sleep. I guess its a neccessary evil at this point. I've got classes to pass!

I've been in a lab with no windows, just went outside for some air, and the sun is up! holy crap, its been awhile since I pulled a sober all-nighter

I wish that I could say the same.... I had 2 all night upgrades in the last couple of months.

And the fun continues this morning. *ALMOST* everything in 1 entire rack in the data center crashed at 0534 this morning, except for 1 single virtual partition. This one is a real head scratcher.

Got called by work last night around midnight, had a database go down and fail over but for whatever reason the standby server wouldn't let anyone connect to it. Ended up distracted and working on other crap and didn't get to bed until 3. Tried to sleep in this morning but it didn't really help at all.

GN on a 7k trailer seems a little overkill. It's going to be more of a pain to hook up and is a lot bigger to store. Just sayin' it might be easier and a bit cheaper to get a bumper pull. I assume that you have a GN setup in the truck already though?

Got the good looks from his dad, obviously, since his mom still has hers.

I'm not complaining, just something that I am not normally accustomed to. That and I'm not getting paid like you are. I'd like to be able to sleep less in general though. Been sleeping in the recliner the last two days.

Yeah those high schoolers can be such hooligans :D

haha!!....SHUT UP!! :D

And to think I was thinking about inviting you guys out for a Beer and Beef Fest at the ol' Preston Farm this summer....Beer and Beef supplied by us....:dunno:

Brad, I will chip in gas if you Drive! :D

Yep, the truck already has the GN setup. The guy that has this trailer for sale has a 2007 bumper pull trailer, same setup for the most part as the GN (a 1997) he wants 2,000 for either trailer. I would be using this trailer to haul the jeep of course, as well as equipment for the landscaping company I work for on the side. The added stability and turning radius is a plus. The places that I want to be able to take my jeep out to (anywhere from New England, to Moab) I would like the added security of a GN.

Now, I do see Mac pulling around the 34' bumper-pull with two jeeps on the back. But that may be a little out of my personal comfort zone for towing. It's going to come down to the best deal thats out there.
