Important

Found a 95 country here in town with a 3 inch lift that has the stress crack behind the steering box. I may get it if I can look at it and see if its is weldable. May have to call in a favor from someone If I do get it! Its really cheap so I could buy it Friday while this whole insurance thing is going on. It also needs a front bumper and Tires Which I have! :D

have a CG add? Lets see some pics.

Top secret, don't want someone buying it out from under me! If He calls I will give him a deposit until friday if it is worth fixing which it probably can be!

I would not count on borrowing money to buy an XJ anymore. It will be hard to find a company that will finance a XJ because of how old they are now. And if you are able to find one they will not offer you a great interest rate.

But then again if you could just get a general purpose loan or what ever then you are good to go. Hmmm let me stop this conversation with my self before it gets started and save everyone some headache.

That all depends on your credit, they may give you a loan and not even require the colateral.

Aaron if they lady was drunk just mention you are going to see a dr, or that you are talking to a lawyer, or let the lawyer talk to them.

A drunk hit my buddy a coulpe years ago and they offered him 10k not to go any farther with it. His car was a 92 accord.....

I went to the ER the night of the accident, I am willing to take this to an attorney if need be. I have a lot more than just money invested in that damn thing!

someone wants to trade a 5.2 v8 dodge for my ranger.... i need something to tow the jeep.... opinions?

Well, the 5.2 in a ZJ does about as well as the 4.0 in the XJ. If it's in a full size truck it may have a sufficient tow rating, but it won't be fun...

Aaron Keep working with the ins they always try to low ball you at first .Also you can always sue the other driver for property damage if you dont like what the ins. co. is offering, just dont take any money from the ins co or sign anything with fine print till you get at least close to what you want . Good Luck and remember the squeeky wheel gets the grease bug the crap out of them.

Your labor probably would require a lawyer to be compensated.

But her insurance company should pay for all recent expenses on the jeep, whether they were upgrades or maintenance items.

I was hit by a semi that blew a red light, and their ins co gave me no problems with paying market value for the van, and full price for the recent exhaust system, rear axle rebuild, tires, and ladder rack. The only thing they balked at was paying me $2000 to build new cabinets for the back. I did get $1000 and the old cabinets, and a day of creative sawzall work got them to fit in the new body style van.

I have known they were gonna try to screw me for a while and I will bug the crap out of them. I think I am gonna take you up on the offer to go pick it up in Indy though. There is Gas money in it for you! I won't even think about signing anything until there is a decent offer on it. I am working on getting the receipts and shit together for the guy but I still think 2445 is an insult.

Well, you got hit by someone who's insurance isn't Farm Bureau. I will from now on NEVER suggest that anyone do business with these people. I have called there 5 times today alone and he's only answered once. I left 3 messages too! I can't believe that they require us to have insurance but the minute you try to work with the companies they screw us! Ahhh America, Land of the free and the Home of the Greedy!:soapbox:

I'm going to assume that you aren't insured with Farm Bureau.

This would be a very good time to call your insurance agent and inquire about subrogation. In short, you claim on your insurance (pay your deductible up front,) and THEIR lawyers on retainer go after the at fault party. You'll get a check for your deductible down the road.

No, i am not insured with them. I have safe auto which probably won't do dick about all my aftermarket parts. All i want is a Similar Jeep. I don't want to sue for tens of thousands of dollars or make her life hell, though i should!

Isn't this what insurance it for? Shouldn't Aarons insurance be pounding down the door of the Farm Bureau people?

for what it is worth.....

I have had a few accidents that were not my fault, I always used my insurance to get repairs done, I let them go after the other company, so far so good.

Your company has an interest in keeping you happy, they do not.

Just my .02
