Important

Well, I sent the black 96 to the scrapyard today. It was a sad day at the house. Time for some beers. Cheers to some great times in that jeep.

I'll do a search sometime, but I was wondering if anyone had tried to install a T&J steering box brace? I won this at winterfest this year and went to put it on and it hits the oil pan and doesn't line up with the steering box...

mac 'least it only cost the 12 bucks for shipping' gyvr

If I was going to put a steering box brace on my XJ, I'd do something like the SolidSteel brace (http://www.solidsteel.ca/DSS.htm) I put on my CTD. It replaces the nut below the pitman arm with a threaded pilot device, and uses a 1" self aligning bearing on it.

Got the jeep on the pad today.
Got the rear brakes tore apart. There was a spring off makeing noise back there.
Self adjusters were seased.
I got the passengers side adjuster freed and put the new hardware on it.
Was in the process of freeing up the drivers side and it started raining hard core.
So now im inside waiting for it to stop.

No garage sucks.

And my D35 is making excessive spider gear noise.
May be time to swap in the 8.8 :D

So who do we put up against the So-Cal guys for the next ROTM?

I think I proved that a killer pic can beat them, even with rusty shocks :D

Something well built, that doesn't look like ass, preferably with one or more wheels in the air, in a scenic location...

So after it quit rainin i got back to work.
Got the rear brakes done and started on the front.
For some reason when i turn to the left something up front scrapes. I can hear a metal to metal sound.
Wheel bearing seams tight and the brakes check out ok. I cant figure it out.
Ive come to the conclusion its probably the wheel bearing but I dont know.
I broke a brake caliper bolt off on the passenger side. Spent a lil bit of time getting that out.
Ill finish the front up in the morning.

lol good point. ill check it out.
when it was apart i saw no spots where it looked like it was rubbing.
its been doin it for a while one would think it would have a shiny spot where it rubbed.

It may be tweaked just enough to rub when you turn. I chased a squeak on a customer's car like that forever.

Liberty U-Pull or Beards?
