Important

pics tomorrow, I am tired.
it takes up less room than the truck/trailer combo, but I can also pull the bed back over the yard a good 4 feet. no dragging going on in the driveway either.

Got pulled over this morning by a IL trooper. Warning for no front plate. (yeah I knew about it and haven't ran one in over a year) and a warning for no mud flaps! He says as of Jan 09 you must have mud flaps that cover the entire width of the tire and half way down the height of the tire. :dunno: It was news to me......so, beware!

that sucks Mike. I was pulled over a while back and it was a new younger MO trooper and he read me the "right act" on my XJ. Bumper height was too tall front and rear, no mud flaps, the tires/wheels stuck outside of the body and I supposedly was not wearing a seat belt, which I was but took it off to get my wallet out for my ID. Got off with a firm warning and he told me to keep it of the road until said items were addressed. For some reason I have this feeling that this is the kind fo guy that shaves in the mroning while listening to the "COPS" theme song.....

Something else that he did say was that "Mudflaps will help keep the mud off of your Jeep when your doing doughnuts in some poor farmers field." I quickly and politely explained that I didn't partake of that sort of activity and asked if he'd ever heard of Tread Lightly. He had not so, I informed him. I even told him of NAXJA and that we have a trail clean up scheduled later this month.

He also made some remark about "Keeping the riff-raff out of town." (I was out of town) I told him he was doing a good job, because I don't plan on comming back any time soon. He did change his tune a tad after I brought up Tread Lightly and was pleasent for the rest of the "visit".

Just one more reason why I refuse to live in IL.

There's a garage for sale directly across the road from me......there's even a house on the same lot.:D

How much would our wives hate that?

That would be sweet. There are a couple houses in our neighborhood for sale if'n you ever want to escape from the People's Republic of Illinois :D

That would be a change... as the IVC did say we didnt need mud flaps or even flares.

I would have asked the stupid SOB if all of the murders and drug dealers were locked up in jail.
What a retard.
Ever since one of them jumped out from behind a toll booth to give me a seat belt ticket, which you have to take off to get change out of your pocket, I lost all respect for them.

??? I never had to take my seatbelt off to get the wallet out.

I got pulled over once and the brilliant osscifer asked if I was about ready to buy new tires for my 66 Olds Delta 88 (425 under the hood) and straight faced I said "no, why are they bald? hahaha.... they were barely legal and I knew it. Before pulling away from the stop I warned the officer I'd probably smoke the tires due to a leaky carb (which is why he pulled me over to begin with) and he made me show him the craked airhorn. Once I showed he he got in his car and left..... the dumba$$ never said a word about me going the wrong way on a oneway street though!

I carry my ID in a card/money clip in my front pocket, so being that I am 6'2" and 250# it is a tad bit easier for me to take the seat belt off and "manuever" my wallet out of my front pocket when I am crunched up in my XJ. That is why I had the belt off.
