Important

And no sign of the snow letting up (the extended forcast has it for every day), -11 this morning in Houghton.

More importantly, I've found, be supportive for your dad, my mom has had a similar situation, where her older siblings and parents are gone and in a short period of time. In the long run all will be well.

I don't remember a whole lotta days below zero when I was in Houghton 25 years ago. OTOH, I do miss the snow.

Finally got some snow last night. Almost all schools are shut down, courthouse is closed and they actually delayed classes at VU.

Funny how southern IN people react to 6" of snow.

You think the reaction is bad here, you should see what happens with an inch of snow in the states south of us.

They don't have near enough plows to keep up during very much snow.

It's been a long time since the Jeep has seen snow. I forgot how well it did in this stuff. We've got around 6" or so.

Looks like ice is on the way for us. It's sleeting now.

Got dropped to 35 hours per week at work today....

Got home and had a frozen pipe to my kitchen sink....

Is it over yet?????

Had to go to court today for a stupid azz tinted window ticket. The vehicle had the tint on it when we bought it at the dealer and they "assured me" that it was of leagal light transparancy. Well, WRONG! $110 ticket for it. I represented myself and the prosecuting attorney was cool as hell. he said "go out in the parking lot and peel it off, and no fine"..case closed! so for the past 2 hours I have been scraping off that damn glue that holds the tint on. I guess it is better to scrape off glue for 2 hours in a heated shop then fork over $110 for something that really was not my fault. :D

GooGone or Goof Off. Werks good.

Yeah, I wish I had some. I ended up using brakes parts cleaner and it got through the glue pretty easy, but WOW, does the interior have an oder now :D

You might be able to re-activate(soften) the glue with soapy water & scrape it off with a razor blade.

Finally closed the deal on the new store today. Now I just need to replace all of the plumbing, tear down a wall or two, strip and repaint the floor, put up the shelving, stock the place... Going to be fun!

Well i was late this morning! I didn't realize I had 1/4 of ice on my windshield! It took me half an hour to get it to where i could see.

Home today. Wife had to go into work, she was the only one of 4 in her department that made it in. Stupid thing is, they are still running on trouble calls even though the county is in a state of emergency

My classes were cancelled, so I kept the kids home.

Wife's work shut down for today, no school, and the kiddies are home.

Gotta go do a recovery here in a bit. FIL found the ditch trying to get out of his drive.

I've had several calls for recovery this morning, but I can't leave with the kids. I told Kim not to go in; took me 30 minutes to get the Dodge cleared off. She did anyway.

I will take the -5 degrees F overnight to that nonsense, gents. Started the CTD this morning, grabbed a shower, and had a nice warm truck for the commute in.

beautiful sunny morning, 15 degrees and climbing.
we got about 2 inches of powder snow.
took the day off anyway.
gotta work on some wiring on the heep.

BOB

i work no matter what, we dont get delays or cancellations...i got home from work this morning, was pumped about the snow, had an old snowblower given to me last summer that "needed work", hadn't done a thing to it except sit it in the garage, so i put fresh gas in it, sprayed starting fluid down the hatch and it fired right up...got the driveway cleaned off and enjoyed a few adult beverages...

mac 'went to bed and left the furnace in the garage on...oops' gyvr
