Important

I have had quite a few ins. companies.
All of the above plus some.
I just switched to Pekin ins. this month.
I go by price only, because the ins. co will screw you around if given any chance, there is an exclusion clause for every incidence and there is no customer service.
Have I ever mentioned I don't care for insurance companies?

I hope you have a better time with them than I did....

Lots of really stupid problems with Pekin.... rate changed on what seemed to be a monthly basis...

Byron, we have State Farm. They never had any problems with the mods. Just wanted me to keep a list of mods and prices of the parts.

Cracked into the Peace Coffee stout/porter I started a few weeks back. It sat on the grounds in secondary for 2 weeks, and in the bottle for 2 weeks. It needs to age quite a bit, it has quite an edge.

Who are you guys using to insure your XJs? I got a letter from Geico stating they are dropping my XJ from our policy at its end because of the modifications. I've got until Feb. 27th to find a new company.

My dad is an independent insurance agent so I usually feel like I get good advice...

I was on progressive and never paid a rider.

I saved a bunch of money though to buy one insurance policy with another company. Covers the house, autos, everything. Again, no rider.

Oh, I guess I'm just dreaming for now. If I was going to buy, I think I would've already grabbed the black one in Ft Wayne. Shore purdy...

Robert

If anyone is interested in that XJ its only about 2 or 3 miles from my house I can run over and take a look at it for ya...before ya would make the trip up here...

and ref the insurance discussion...almost 8 years ago after i rolled my xj and got dropped by the insurance company at the time, state farm picked me up at a good rate...been with them ever since...cars, house, trailers all on the policy these days...

mac 'they didn't even flinch at the little fire hydrant incident' gyvr

I had State Farm for a while, my daughter (Tater) had a few accidents, so they asked me to leave. Went to Progressive thinking I was in the gutter. Heck, the rates were good, so I moved my home there as well.

Here's a tip, if you have kids getting to their driving years , you need to get a $1 Million Umbrella. It'll cover you in case of a serious auto accident and hurts multiple other people. kind of scary to think about, but it will save your home from being taken from you.

We have USAA, rates are comparable to the other big companies, but I like their service better. We get a deal because we bank with them also. Have to be a veteran to have an account with them.

The house is covered with the farm bureau. They had the best deal ($175) after the NC state mandated wind and hail insurance for coastal properties ($850 a year.)

I got Travis hooked up with USAA.

Nuts. Got the word this morning that one of Dad's older brothers passed away over the weekend, at 91 years old. Looks like I've got a long road trip this week.

Sorry to hear that. I will pray for comfort for you and your family.

My condolences, also.

If you're passing through Chicago at an appropriate time, stop by for a glass of vanilla porter.

Upon further consideration...... I'm not going to make the run. 600 miles each way across da YooPee, and I'd have to leave by tomorrow noon just to make to the funeral on time.

I spent some time with Dad on the phone tonight. His brother, Wencel, hasn't recognized him for at least a year. Wencel is more than entitled to his peace.

Thanks for the thoughts, all.

X2 to the thoughts and prayers. I can tell you one thing that near the Keewenaw it has not stopped snowing since last week. Not that it's been coming down heavy. Just steady.

Finally got some snow last night. Almost all schools are shut down, courthouse is closed and they actually delayed classes at VU.

Funny how southern IN people react to 6" of snow.
