got hubs off the diesel, realized that i do not have a disconnect axle...pass side is one piece...changed ujoints (had to cut ujoints out) replaced ujoints, put hubs back on with generous amounts of antisleeze and got rotors back on...putting brakes on and front diff fluild in later today...

tow rig gets nearly 1k rebuild...

Mac. How many miles and how did the joints look? I'm guessing you changed them just because you where in there?

I just did 1,400miles over the weekend and the fronts have been on my mind for a little while. I think I'm on all factory u-joints in the truck at 145,000.

What urks me is the whole Obama - Lincoln deal. They're pounding that in the ground big time. Same Bible, same meal......yada, yada, yada.....:rolleyes:

Got a BlueTooth headset today. First one I've ever tinkered with. Kinda handy, especially while driving.

I just skipped the bluetooth headset and went right into getting a bluetooth stereo. I'm not on my phone enough to have to remember a headset is and the stereo makes it very handy to hear and answer your phone while driving.
 
I got this one off of woot.com. It's not rechargable, and takes a AAAA battery. Claims over 480 min of talk time on one battery. :dunno: I use my phone the most when I'm driving, I think it'll be handy.

the ujoints were dry...at 90k...replaced them...haven't taken a hotlap yet to see if the grinding at 75mph is gone yet...

have almost 1k in the front axle on a 3 year old truck...

I saw yesterday on TV that one woman said GW screwed her after Katrina, she had to sit on her roof for three days, and I qoute "Ther tis no way Barack Obama would let that happen to me"

Some people just don't see the light, he is only one person. I am glad the damn thing is over maybe I won't have to hear about him for a while, yeah RIGHT!
 
Have to post a recommendation for the Airgas store in Vincennes. I took my 15lb CO2 tank in for a pressure test and refill, and they swapped me a full 20lb tank instead of having to hassle with sending it to Evansville and hoping it got back in time for WF. I didn't get the 20lb tank in the Jeep until a few days later and realized it wouldn't fit in my bracket. Called them up and they said I could exchange back.

Went there today for the exchange expecting to have to wait a few weeks to get it back and the manager told me he already took care of it and my original tank was filled and ready to go.

Great customer service on their part. I know most of you won't ever visit the store in Vincennes, but if you do you will be well taken care of.
