Important

I'm far too lazy to do connectors correctly, I just crimp them on and that's it. I've got probably well over a hundred throughout the Jeep, I lose about one or two a month to corrosion, especially the ones on the floor. But they only take about 30 seconds to replace so I just live with it. Plus it's easy to see the problem when it isn't covered with shrink tubing.

The only things I solder are the ends on all my 2 gauge battery wires.

One week till I leave the Midwest for the drive back to Las Vegas! Camping in Black Hills, Badlands, Yellowstone, and Manti-La Sal National Forests along the way, 8 nights total. Hope the Jeep holds together, it's going to be 2600 miles, 44 hours of driving through 12 states.

One last day of wheeling at Haspin on Sunday, and then GOODBYE OHIO!!!

where you at in OH?

i agree byron, shopping around for new headlights for that year truck you're really limited. my old headlights were fogged up on the inside so new ones were needed. but you know how it goes with the jeep. when somethings broke, upgrade.

Ya. IIRC the half ton Sport headlight lenses were a popular upgrade for those trucks. I was able to polish my headlights on the Chevy, otherwise I was going to look into new housings myself.

I thought I would be able to polish mine out, i worked on the outside and it did a little bit, but i noticed that the film was from the inside of the light, and since they are a sealed beam light, water could sneak in there but there was no way for me to take it apart to try and polish them up

You put them in the oven and then just pull them apart.

JIM and I have done it many...many, many..times.

Unless the lens is welded (sonic welded) then yeah, replace them!

Looks like they'll be looking at taking mine (tonsils) out for sleep apnea reasons.

thats why mine are going bye bye...

that and mine are monsters that are constricting my breathing period...

mac 'might be two weeks of movies and naxja time' gyvr

Im sorry Mac, but all I can imagine is the stereotypical, heavy-duty police officer chasing a suspect and wheezing the whole time...At least we know you can Indian leg wrestle.

Can't top Mac's tonsils but I'm on my way to the dentist for a un-planned-for crown to be done. Broke a dam toof.

I freakin' hate dentists and they usually hate me!

you ever try to catch a crack head?

one stole my bike when i was a kid so i was chasing after him, i swear there was smoke coming from the tires cause he was riding so fast

got the bike back later cause he tried selling it to my friend, he asked if he could take it for a test ride and the crackhead let him :dunno:

moral of the story... crackheads are fast and stupid
kids don't do crack

The crimp terminals I make heavy use of (for anything except temp wiring) are actually a clear glue lined crimp terminal. So you can see the crimp perfectly, but it's 100% watertight. Just plain awesome.

Home Depot has em in the lighting/electrical aisle usually. I think AutoZone has them at an even further inflated price. I'm looking for a good bulk supplier right now because I keep going through a lot of them...

Had the walk around from our GM training rep this morning. For you guys out there reppin Chevys...good news is afoot. A lot of you have already heard of their 397 hp and 765 tq which are both more than Ford or Dodge...but, the real good news is yet to come. How about a fully boxed frame?! 36 gallon fuel tank, improved fuel mileage, bumper pull towing capacity of 17,000#, 5th wheel capacity of 21,700#, max payload of 6,635#, stronger front axle to allow for a snow plow package on ALL 4WD models with a front GAWC of 6,000#, standard exhaust brake with all diesel models, trailer sway control capable of integrating a trailer brake controller, hill start assist that will hold the brakes for about another second after letting off while on a 5* or greater incline, Wi-Fi good enough to host at least 20 connections at a distance of up to 150 ft...Now, it does have the diesel exhaust fluid thing. It helps reduce NOx to nearly nothing assisted with UREA which is 2/3 pure water and 1/3 chemical. It does have to be replenished at a regular interval that closely matches up with oil change intervals. The added cost of the UREA can be figured in at about 3 cents per gallon of fuel, but with the added fuel economy, it's pretty well a wash. Also it has wider leaf springs and larger brakes. The brakes are the same size as Dodges but with a larger contact surface with the pads. So, if you're considering a new diesel HD pickup...Chevy has surpassed the competition in many, many aspects.
