Yup, that is correct. I actually live about 7 miles south of Unionville on Hwy 5. To be more specific, it is the junction of HH and 5, that is where my home and shop and 120 acre farm is, the other pieces of ground (3000+ acres) spread from Newtown to Harris to Osgood Missouri. The military trucks, tractors and combine etc are located at the "main base" of operations for us at Harris (father in law and g-ma in laws farms).

Man im an idiot.........

i looked out the back door at work from down the isle and thought man its getting dark out side its about to poor................got down the isle and noticed the UPS truck parked in front of the door

wondering what the chances would be of getting a group together and hitting Hannibal Rocks or Flat Nasty?

Hannibal Rocks has an open trail weekend July 24/25th and the WEROCK series is running that same weekend, might be cool to see and wheel that weekend :dunno: that should be kinda close for you Chicago area fellas and ladies.

just mapquested it, looks to be about 275 miles from Plainfield to Hannibal....maybe a bit further then some may want to drive

I am thinking about trying to make that weekend there possibly??

I went to HR formerly Rockport a few years back when they had the WEROCK competitors there. It was great to get out off the trail for a while and watch them. They ran all day, not sure about now. The owners were really good friendly people.

DOH! How in the hell could I forget about that...gotta have a calander in front of me at all times :D

I will be attending Brewfest, not HR that weekend. Thanks for the "reminder" John :D

You let her drive your truck and trailer? With the Jeep on it?

Things getting serious? :D

Hannibal Rocks isn't a terrible drive for me, looks like 4h30m or so. I could do that (but not the BrewFest weekend of course). Unionville on the other hand, that's about 7 hours... sheesh.

Though the way my truck drives, 4.5 hours with a trailer is almost worse than 7 hours unloaded.

There are some decent campgrounds by Hannibal Rocks, or in that vincinity I am told. It may be a late summer trip we all can put together :dunno: If there is any interest I will start a thread on it and try to set up something unofficial.

Don't worry John, if Aaron RC wheels like he Jeep wheels, all you have to worry about is the driveway and the sidewalks :D hasta
Isn't there a minivan forum you should be joining? I figure that's why you put your rig up for sale! :laugh3:

Haha something like that. We're gearing up to use the new camper as much as we can this year, doubt the Jeep will leave pavement until this fall or maybe even WF11. I haven't even wheeled Redbird this year and I'm on the BOD.

I've been to both of their parks back in 2007, and then again in 2008 we went to Hannibal Rocks for XRRA. Hannibal Rocks is a different location than Rockport (I think that was the names), but only one is open now? Seemed like cool places, but pretty small, not sure if its worth the 10+ hour drive for me.

Tom and Debbie Wombles are good people.

mac 'get rocked' gyvr

I have heard local reports of Hannibal Rocks being small. Rockport is now closed. From what I have gathered is that Hannibal is a hand full of trails and there is a large quary area. I am guessing that area to be as big as the Badlands in comparison. All I have really seen of it is from photos and the coverage on Xtreme 4x4 when they did the top shop challenge there.

from what I recall...Rockport Off Road Park was leasing the land. The land owners sold the property to a buyer very suddenly. So, RORP found a place up the road and called it Hanibal Rocks. Rockport rock quarry was impressive...I heard the new place has an even better rock quarry.
I stayed at a Hotel on the MO side of the river...it was clean, inexpensive and air conditioned!
