Important

You need a job where they need a manager or someone with your level of experience.

In other new, they are tearing the transmission out of my company car for the 3 time in the last 6 months...cause it's still not right. On a 5 year old car with 80k miles...

I had an interview for a local place the other day and the HR person says, give me a call on Monday and we will talk then. I call today and she says they decided to go another route because I have too much experience and the supervisor did not want anyone that had that much experience working for him. I am fine with not getting the job. The organization came off as a bit of a shit show during the interview process. The reason just seems odd. As a supervisor, if I could get more experienced people I would have been thrilled to not have to spend the effort teaching them everything. If they don't want to pay for my experience, then say that.
I've already had one place tell me that my qualifications made the person who I would be working for too nervous and another that I would get bored with the job too quickly.

I went through that same thing for a few years. I just gave up looking, if the right thing comes around I will take it. No one wants to pay for experience.

There are plenty of jobs in the country that compensate you for your work experience. They often do not exist in the place you choose to live.

And that's why I'm in Unionville, Missouri........job offer came in, great $$$ and benefits, I can walk at 57 with a great retirement and the cost of living is way cheap. Bought the farm when land was down and now it's cash flowing well. Actually thinking of selling the farms in a few years if Case has no interest in taking them over one day. I could sell the farms and the lake house and do a like kind exchange for a sweet retirement place!

He has interest right now, but as he gets a bit older and matures we will see if his interest is still in it or if he would rather inherit a vacation home elsewhere. He also stands to get 1/3 of his grandparents farms, and they have well over 3000 acres. He will be doing good one day when we all croak, he just has to keep his nose in the books and not become a menace to society etc to get that luxury.

Heh

She's back together already, the intake manifold was leaking at the rubber gasket on the back side. It didn't get seated correctly I guess when I put it back down the last time. This time I just used ultra black and no rubber gasket to put it back together.

Today I learned that there are as many registered Democrats in Cook County as their are registered voters in the rest of the state of Illinois and you could truck in 100,000 Republicans to vote and it still will not make a difference.

Yet you still CHOOSE to live there.

Illinois is a state of 14 million people
7 million live in Chicago, the other 7 million know better.

Hillary will win 6 counties in Illinois, trump will win the other 94. Yet hillary will get all 20 electoral votes. Any questions as to why the electoral college no longer makes any sense to continue.
