Important

Right now I have 4.10s with 31s and it is great. I'm hoping it doesn't suck when I put the 33s on in Feb. Factory 4.10s in a TJ 30 and 8.8.

I did 4.10s and 33s for a long time in the popcan and it worked out.

4.56 and 33s is much nicer.

the small pinion of the 4.88s scares me...and I've seen a few busted.

mac 'its all in what you can afford' gyvr

A guy that is quitting in 2 days just tried quoting a case of brake kleen on a job... ummm no.

I must have my numbers off, been a 'few' years since I've driven the, what is now the buggy, on the road with 4.10s and 34s. Eh I still stand by 4.56s/4.88s in the stock axles, I feel the 8.8 is only worth the time if you score a disk brake 4.10. I prefer the 8.25.

the 8.25 is decent, but if you're going 35's then the 8.8's bigger tubes matter. The diff is ginormous, so sometimes rock anchor.

I had good service out of a few 8.8s that had nothing more than the tubes welded to the center.

super bling superior 8.8 was the bomb diggity, and will live under a comanche once again in Doug's build.

I Flogged the dog piss out of the 27spl welded 4.10 8.25 in my buggy for 5+ years in my buggy on 36s and not a problem after I ditched the bolt/strap stock yoke for an after market u-bolt one. But every ones different.

Going to graveyard shift next week for the next 2 months. Apparently I'm important. Hope it shows on my review

Guess I'll go with 4.56's.. 99% of road duties are 45mph and under so I suppose it shouldn't be bad. That'll be a little down the road though. I have a 8.8 w/disc brakes I got from a buddy for a head unit that came with a TBSS I bought.. swapped it out for the stock unit for before I sold it and traded for the 8.8, so I really have nothing in it.

Anyone want to build an LJ from scratch? I have a great starter kit I want to get rid of. 05 tub and frame, 4.0 and AW4, 8.8 with 4.10 LSD discs and nice TJ brackets, stock susp components, other parts, etc.

nice to see I'm not the only guy that ignores the "Don't use an impact" warnings on the balljoint tool.

I used one every time when I was working at the shop. Never blew up a HF ujoint/balljoint tool, even though it made a wide U several times.
