Important

I never felt 4.10s was enough on 34s and 4.0/aw4, don't get me wrong it worked and was so much better then 3.55s but if your going to do it why not do it right?

4.os like to rev so running 2300-2600 down the road is nothing.

Heck our jeep on 33's with 3.55's runs around 2100rpm going down the road at 60. One of these days it's getting 4.56 gears.

33s and 4.56 is a nice setup

My gear guy is in Fort Wayne. You bring the gears and the install kit and whatever traction device you want or appropriate open case.

$150 per axle labor if they are out.
$200 per axle labor in the vehicle, you can drive it here and drive it home.

He's setup all my gears, fore wheelers, Chaz, samsets and many many others.

He's in gear quality at dana now, previously set factory gears up at dana. Been doing them on the side for 15 years.

I get nothing out of it except you'll meet me and we may clang adult beverages.

I'm not taking away from others on here that do gears like Brennan and hobag, if you're thinking about expense shop prices get with me.

That is a damn good price, I don't really like doing gears.

I sent you a message macgyvr.

I've been driving with 3.55s and 33s for a year and it's pretty slow. Not nearly as slow as the 4runner with 4.10s and 35s though.

Switching to 35s and 4.88s to keep up with my other rigs.

It must have been something in the air yesterday bc it started with talking about these little dirt bikes and when I went to lunch I randomly received a call from the Polaris dealer telling me of the rebates and specials he had going and that he would give me $6500 sight unseen for my SxS on trade for a new fullsize rig. I did some quick number crunching and I think we may go trade for a 570 fullsize. They are not huge on power like a 900 etc, but we just use them as chore rigs with the cattle. If I can upgrade for about 3K, I think I will do it. That only has me into a rig for about a grand a year and when I break that down with my nerdness and accounting abilities, thats less than a Benji a month. Thats hella cheap for an operational expense on the farm. And if I do trade, I may drag it to WF for shits and giggles.

I drive 3 1/2 hours to have him set up my gears, and drink with Mac.

Yeah I charge $250 in the vehicle simply because I don't feel like rolling around under a vehicle that's not mine for hours :)

Yeah exactly, his price for in the vehicle just recently went up.

4.10 and 33's works great here, sucks in the mountains!

I must have my numbers off, been a 'few' years since I've driven the, what is now the buggy, on the road with 4.10s and 34s. Eh I still stand by 4.56s/4.88s in the stock axles, I feel the 8.8 is only worth the time if you score a disk brake 4.10. I prefer the 8.25.
