Important

96 was OBII...event tho they look the same 93-98...the 96-98 are a lot different in many ways than the 93-95.

Maybe someday I'll make it to the dealer and take one for the team.

yeah, but in XJ land they didn't go full CAN BUS until 97.

probably because they developed it all for the ZJ in 96 it looks like.
I assume 96+ ZJ has gauges driven by PCM and the like.

I'm zj tarded, just know what to take from those that works. if the RKE module is the same in the ZJs and WJs that would be a god source for us, because al of hte grands had keyless entry. Programming fobs brings the suck though.

The XJ interior and exterior was behind by one year that's probably why it didn't get upgraded until the new body style came out.

new RKE module must interact via the bus with other things.

XJ wasn't fully integrated until 97 when they changed the cluster is when it went fully stupid.

Sold the Chevy, turned around and bought the wife a Pontiac Montana. She is happy with a smaller vehicle.

wait, you own a comanche now?

you want a shortbed bedliner?

Not yet....and it's a long bed. If he doesn't sell it before Christmas the price is too good to pass up for a known solid truck.

This is our 2nd Montana. I worked on a bunch of GM vans when I was at the shop, so I'd rather have one of them than a Chryco or Ford for familiarity. First thing I did was let it idle with the air blasting to see if it got hot; never got over the halfway mark. It was 90* out on fresh asphalt :flame:

I think we did ok, 190k on it, every option you could get in 2000 including rear air and state-of-the-art MontanaVision drop down LCD screen and VCR in the console. All for $1600.

I hate mini vans

Such is life with 3 kids. I swore I would never have one but they are annoyingly handy.

Ask grace about minivans.

She hates them...as do I.
