There was a foot pursuit nearly through my back yard this afternoon...

They caught him...

Tracking dogs have been through my yard 3 times since I bought the place.

Spring 2012 I was sitting in the back yard working on a friends YJ dash wiring and some dude I'd never seen before walks out of the woods looking confused. We're like "who are you?" and he walks back into the woods...

5 minutes later two officers with a dog come out following him. They're like "you see anyone come through here?" so we gave a detailed description and indicated which direction he went.

Them: "well the dog has picked up a scent going this way (completely the opposite direction), so we're going to follow this"

us: well ok, good luck with that.

They ended up finding the guy like a town over... in the direction we said he went.

Is that solenoid pack connector through the top of the valve-body portion of the trans housing like the 4R70/75/100? Those three all have issues just with the connector being corroded/busted off...

The 4R100 has been pretty awesome since I got it back together. With the right internals and a good cooler, I've yet to have it break 140* unloaded or loaded...

That was what my mechanic (that I used to work for) said was the hardest part. He filled it with full synthetic fluid also. I deleted the smashed factory cooler and am running a huge Hayden cooler in front of the condenser.

Ford got it right with the 5sp auto in the 6.4 and newer v10s

Byron you didn't have to rebuild it. $350 in a 15 year old truck...not shabby.

I'll give you $500 for it...

Ya, not complaining at all about the $$, that also included a soot trap delete. It was just unexpected a week after buying the truck and 3 days before a trip. Although it is better to find out now than nuking the trans in the middle of BFE Alabama.

i less than a week ill be racing this bad boy around the caterpillar proving grounds in illinois:

with that said, there was some serious work to do after the last event at kansas. namely, our rollover that happened on the last lap of the endurance event:

an outside company does all of our bending. so without being able to bend chromoly in house we had to miter in a new main roll bar. chop chop:

while that was being taken care of, some of our rear triangulation was smashed as well. i supported it, chopped it, made a slug and spliced in a new tube:

one thing we found out in kansas was that our ride height was way too low. my stinger took a pounding. so, i got her off the ground, ready for baja now!

another issue we had was maneuverability. the ackermans using the polaris stuff was absolutely ridiculous. our performance on maneuverability was embarrassing at best. i always had a hunch that it would be, but with the real world proof, the big wigs finally let me fab a correction bracket. now the car will U turn around a light pole coming into it at 25mph.

FYI make sure the car can handle a hard rollover at peoria. I helped design the track in 2011 when i worked at CAT. if they do the same stuff, they will use concrete jersey barriers jumps again.

I think your team was there in 2011? My Cherokee was there driving around a lot.

The red jeeps has one at center of B hoop due to my dumb ass getting my numbers mixed up but I did have to change a few tube to make the big PRP pro high backs fit. But eh it's strong and werks.

The buggy on the other hand has many from when it went from a 2 seater to a 3.75 seater a few years back.
