hint, check the you-pull for a mid to late 90s and early 00s Durango or Dakota. Check the sticker in the glovebox, if it says corp 8 or corp 8.25 axle and says rear limited slip, rip the carrier out and stuff it in your existing 8.25.
LSD 8.25s are really, really, really common in Dakotas (but are typically spanked and need new clutch packs) and fairly common in 8.25 equipped Durangos. Make sure it's an 8.25, they put the 9.25 in em too, just compare the diff cover shape.
I did my LSD swap in my MJ for the cost of gear lube and RTV because I took an XJ 8.25, stuffed the LSD from a Durango in it in the junkyard, bought the whole pile for $137, flipped the XJ axle on craigslist with my MJ's open diff carrier in it (yes, I reset the gears properly!) and put the LSD in my axle. The 8.25 is a side adjuster axle, so you don't even need any reshimming, and ring gear bolts can be reused safely once or twice if you use loctite on em. Make sure to keep each carrier bearing cup with the bearing it was broken-in with, though. I would have bought new ring gear bolts but I was on a shoestring budget at the time.
