Important

Handles more like a pontoon...

Burn :D

I've never been impressed with BMW as a "drivers car". I've actually driven a lot of them somehow. I played personal mechanic to a rich kid with a nice e46 3 series. Engine had no response, would drive it hard and it always felt like I was driving in sand, and it was a 5 spd...

My folks have owned 2 or 3 and I've daily driven a 97 5 series for a bit... The v8 was pimpin,Sam and I used to take it downtown when we were dating :)

All that being said I did have a lot of fun driving an e46 m3..... I'm hard on people's cars when they let me drive em :D

Molly is referring to the blown strut, she stopped by the house and within 5 minutes she was behind the wheel! As much as she hates BMW, she sure seemed to like the drop top! :D

Re: Re: Important

Europeans buy cars and keep them for a long time because of how expensive they are. They don't understand why Americans would want to eat in the car and ruin a long term investment. There's no cup holders because driving is an experience and they make restaurants and cafés for eating.

So long term for a eurocar, 10 years before it costs more per month to keep running than a car payment?

For those out of the loop, we traded the '01 X5 for a '12 Tacoma. I have learned that BMW stands for Giant Piece of Shit.

I can't find the buttons to adjust the internal clock on my 5 year old. Good thing is he will want to go to bed an hour early tonight.

My transition was seamless. Harrison slept in for an hour this morning, so he got up at the right time. I'm pleased. He's pretty good about going to sleep, so I shouldn't have that problem.

Re: Re: Important

I am actually looking for a C8.3 half assedly right now, preferably the 2500rpm/1150ft-lb/300 or 330hp version. Without breaking the bank, which means I'm not going to find one :laugh3:

This is the combine motor. Was just curious on HP/tq numbers. IP tag says 260HP.

You go looking for "good deals". That's what happens.

The X5 is a piece of shit IMO.

If you want a good BMW, that aint it. Friend of mine who likes BMWs says you should be aiming for an e46 or so, and e30s are always cool.

got out looking for some duck hunting spots here in jersey...found one good prospect. met up with another new guy to the area and we followed gps out to a few other spots that were off the beaten path and i was quickly reminded that i havent put my front driveshaft back on after taking it out last month on a long trip. i replaced the ujoint, i just need to put it back on :( we got about 3 miles down a mountain road/trail that was supposed to have big swamp area and there was a sign that literally said

"road washed out 1 mile ahead...if you have a narrow vehicle, you might make it"

knowing full well that the shaft was in the back of the jeep if i needed it, we decided to go for it. luckily it didn't get too hairy since it was dry, but the washout wasn't too terrible. i was also very quickly reminded that the 33's are bigger than the 31's and i need to put the longer springs that i have on the back. my fender openings self clearanced themselves just a bit flexing out when crossing the big washouts. got into some slicker terrain where i think the old racing slicks would have given me trouble, but the new tires had plenty of grip in 2wd. i think im going to go lay in the street later to put the front shaft back on though lol
