I never cut a sidewall however I took them off with 60% of the tread left because I felt they were too dangerous in the snow and ice.

KM2? or the original bfg mt?

well like more MTs with big tread blocks they could be helped with some additional siping probably.

KM2's

My theory is that their tread design gives them no lateral traction. If you get on a side hill or if you start sliding sideways they turn into ice skates.

Two different winter wheeling trips where we were on the sides of mountains in the snow me and one other guy who had them kept sliding toward the side of the cliff. Nobody else has that problem.

This. I wasn't sold on Kevlars until I saw them in Moab. My vote is for Kevlar's or KM2's.

looks good and bright for only have 8. you like them? i have 14 on mine.

Yea we like them so far. Pretty sure they will come in handy for more than just night wheeling. With only having 8 of them they are a lot brighter than I thought they would be.

My KM2's were great but I feel the Kevlars are a bit better all a round. I had my KM2's Sipped by Discount tire for $12 a tire and it made a huge difference on and off road.

After watching the Kevlars in Moab I think they will be my next tire. They are new enough I'm still waiting to hear how tread life is though.

I put a ton of miles on the giveaway jeep and they seemed to have nice road manners.

Friend of mine had the kevlars and loved them. Had well over 30,000 miles on them and they still had a bunch of tread left and were quiet.

I'll probably hit up discount and have mine siped, I would not trust any tire shop here to even know what siping is.

Siping is when you have a small cup of tea and bring it to your mouth with your pinky out, right? :D

I tore a km2 and blew it out this spring on a relatively gentle rock face. It doesn't even look like anything hit it, just looks like someone took a knife to the sidewall.

I thought the KM2s out performed the kevlars on several different occasions out in Moab.

I saw a couple times where the kevlars were on the end of a winch to get up or stay upright on a climb and there was no winch needs for the KM2s...

That was one area I LOVED my KM2's. They were by far the best Moab tire I've ever run. Unfortunately I don't go to Moab enough to make the other aspects I didn't like worth it.

Dont get me wrong... the km2's perform GREAT, Tyler had a set on the ranger that lasted until they were bald. Hes the only km2 owner i know who hasnt cut one.

im on the fence about getting a set for little jeep....theyre good tires for street/trail and i dont think a set of 30's will get me places where cut tires become an issue.

So I found the source of the vacuum leak and the cause of having only defrost. Seems the small plastic vacuum line that runs through the firewall off the vacuum line 'T' is cracked clean off. Its a jagged break and I think I will just use some fuel line I have laying around to reconnect the ends. I'll probably super glue the new line onto the old plastic one so it will stay put.

I REALLY don't want to take out the dash to replace such a small line.

Damn that sucks, not as simple as mine. i would use the fuel line for sure.

My bias 38" TSL's were the best off road tire I ever had. They worked so well in so many situations.

I liked my MTR's in Moab, now to see if I like them this side of the Mississippi

I may jump on the MTR bandwaggon. not sure yet, still trying to decide if i want to stay with 33's or jump to 35's...

I had those older 33s which were similar to KM2s last WF, while they worked great in sand, snow, mud, they weren't the best on rock...

I now have 33 MTr's and was able to do everything I could do with the old 'km2s' plus crawl rock in SD, Gilbert, Apple Valley...

I will probably stick with MTrs on my Jeep, don't know what will go on the CJ5 yet as that will be more of a road warrior than on trails...
