Important

Had to change the fuel pump in Yeller today. I figured since I had a couple of complete tanks with pumps I would just swap one for the other. As I was pulling the tank from one parts jeep I splashed gas in my eye when I disconnected the fuel line. SOB that hurts!!!

A little while later after I had flushed my eye out as best I could and the stinging had finally quit as I was hooking the fuel line back up in Yeller I had a big old drop of gas land in the same damn eye!!!! Felt like someone stabbed me with an ice pick.

That was four hours ago and it still hurts.

Was the wife's birthday today.

I worked part time last night and tonight and got paged out this morning...she wasn't too happy...did take her to Texas Roadhouse for a nice meal.

Was fun having everyone over. I very much lucked out on my garage when I was looking for houses. Plus this past weekend gave me a very reason to get the small garage cleaned out for good projects like this.

Sam or Rew how was the drive home on stockish tires and 4.56 gears?

Also was able to get some time with my dad and his thoughts for his 55 willys jeep that's sitting in my garage. I guess we are going to be looking for a frame for one. Its a 4x4 truck frame that we need if anyone knows of one or comes across one. I could potentially bring one back from out west if it works out with the Moab trip.

mac 'not sure if its a this winter or next winter project' gyvr

Do you want me to keep my eye out? There are quite a few old Willys trucks running around here and in bone yards.

Yes please.

No clue on a budget, but he told me that his needs a frame.

He said that there are three different frames for that year and his is a 55 4x4 truck frame.

Also, we need a drivers side front fender.

I am not sure what years maybe similar for these items, I can check with him and see if he knows.

Let me know what you find. Thanks

Might be worth buying the whole rig if its rust free and isn't banged up.

mac 'not sure how I'd get all that home from Moab, but I'd try' gyvr

You are obviously not my father...

A few years ago I had a 94 dodge 2500 with a 318 and the cab and bed were wrecked. I tried to put the Willys body on that and he told me no.

It was not as bad as a few people told me it would be. for the most part i kept is just under 3k rpms, speedo is out of wack so im not 100% sure how fast i was going at those rpms but it felt something like 60/70mph

your garage is pimp, may have to return. only regret i have is not bringing my IRO steering parts. seemed like i would have had plenty of time and good tools to knock that out.

So many facets to the motor hobby. Some like it original as possible and some like to mix and match as needed.

Ryan: Next time wear goggles or you will be seeing the doc for a used cornea!
That eye may get dry as it heals. I'd get some saline and keep it flushed and wet.

Well damn, i was gonna suggest a ranger or s10 frame. there is a couple of old ford F100 builds i have seen on the Internets using those frames with whatever small block motor they can shove in there.

The first time it happened it took me totally by surprise. The jeep hasn't ran in a year and the fuel rail hasn't been hooked up on the motor. I never would have thought gas was still in the line. I also wasn't under the jeep. I was behind it and that shit still got me.

The second time I was expecting it. Had my goggles on and for some stupid reason took them off for a couple of seconds. Of course it hit me in those couple of seconds.

So last Saturday (7/13), I saw a fellow NAXJA member at the Erskine Village shopping center. He had a nicely built silver/black 97+ XJ, and he had a WF '13 decal too, maybe even WF '12 decal too. It was about 5:00.

Just wondering who it might have been; never seem to see many members from north central IN on here.

Should have specified this was in South Bend.

Although I did think it could have been Ben.

But both their rigs are black...

nope it wasn't us. We were just getting off the lake at 5 on saturday. Shouldn't be able to miss suzi's jeep with it being blue and having pink suspension parts under it.

If anyone comes across a 78-79 f250 hp44 keep me in mind. There were a handful of the on CL before Harlan an now the only two I see are $500 or $1000 with rear D60.

I think I'm going to get one and narrow it to wide track waggy width with RCVs and a full case locker and high steer for the niner.

Would be cheaper to do a 60.
