16ga is a bit heavier than stock bodywork sheetmetal... I'd say 18 or 20 is stock for body panels, 16 or so for floors. It's too thin I know that much.

I like to make sure the old metal is lapped over the new metal so I am welding through the paper thin metal into a known good piece of 16ga. Makes it so I only blow through every few inches instead of every quarter inch :farmer:

Well I think this will technically be 'floor' on the back of the tub. I ordered more than needed so I can use it on the floor pans when I get that far. Hoping I won't have any blow-through problems using the 110v 135...

Might also be adding wrap-a-rounds on the rear bumper while I'm at it...

getting sick of people bitching about the snow here...its iowa. it snowed less than 4" and yes its blowing, but the roads aren't that bad. not even close to the last storm. why do we all the sudden blow every snow storm out of proportion. my wifes employees are all calling and saying they can't make it in because its so bad out...blah. grow up people

Unless we get a 1/2in of ice or more, I don't think we'll ever be closed/snow day here... Kinda of makes it nice cause that means I get a longer summer break...

I'm so sick of snow I could scream. Plowed the driveway twice yesterday. Cleared 10" the first time and another 5" or so last night. Woke up to another few inches.

The stupid thing is our mountains aren't getting it. They are below normal snow pack.

It's a sad day at Chrysler, well for me anyway. We found old parts (new in the box) for XJ's that have to be scrapped They are no longer used and have no purpose. But at least they are just trim pieces to the dash and not much larger components.

I don't mind the cold. It makes me money. I don't even mind the snow but there is such a thing as too much of a good thing.

I used to take a sawzawll to the plastic parts for ultras, roadglides and softtails. Cutting up 70k worth of parts was part of my quarterly cleaning..

If I had the money, a friend of mine is having an auction of his parents stuff (sad situation, his dad is accused of stabbing and killing his mom). The auctions includes a 1985 Toyota 4x4 pick up with a 5 speed and 22re motor (117k). Looks clean also.

Which route are you taking? My suggestion is eat the extra few hundred miles and go as far south as you can. If you plan on I-70 or 80 you will get hosed. Hope you own chains for your Ferd.
