Jeff, this is the compressor I have. Bought it 5 years ago and it works flawlessly. The only thing it won't keep up with is my cut off wheel, which uses a ton of air.

That's pretty much what I'm thinking about putting back in the corner of the garage. About the only real question is buy it from Home Depot, Lowe's, Tractor Supply, Northern Tool, or someone else. Gotta keep my eyes on CList.

I have a 60 gal sanborn from Menards that I bought in 2004...think I paid around $400 for it on sale. Wasn't much more than a 30 gal from sears that they were selling for $299.

Works great, never runs out of air. Usually will run and stop before I'm done doing what I'm using it for.

Pretty much any of those are going to outlast any of us.

Oilless compressors are noisy as hell. Oil based compressors still make noise, but nothing like the cheap oilless variety.

in other news last night while drinking heavily with friends, the brother in law subject came up. gave me just enough fuel to wright my email to him at 3 in the morning while wasted. lucky i was smart enough not to press the send button, i just saved it so i could re-read it this morning. it wasn't very bad but there was a few things that didnt need to be said, so i cut them out, fixed the spelling errors, and let my wife read it before i sent it just now.

i will not be starting an online war with a kid that i don't give a shit about, i just needed to get what i had to say out there, without it getting diluted and filtered from my wife. depending on the quality of his response will tell me if i will continue. i wont talk calmly and intelligently to a moron that does nothing but shoot off insults.
