Important

At maxbilt trying to locate one of these mythic 'spare computers' that everyone in the locale club said they had, but apprently now can't find... Frustrated.

On another note, Phil scored a blueprinted fresh 5.0 stroker... Imma working all my powers to get a deal on it...

Gonna need a Duramax radiator to keep that thing cool....:eyes:

Upon further review, my Honda shitvic wouldn't start because it had no gas.

gah...i hate it when that happens...

my gas gauge in the xj hasn't worked right in 4 years...

sometimes what i "think" is in the tank and what is "actually" in the tank...are 2 very different things.

That's something that's always made me nervous. I did figure out that the easy way to get into the fuel tank on my CTD was to lift off the box, instead of dropping the tank out from underneath. And also discovered that my 1999 CTD has a 2000 fuel tank module (only took me 2 years to figure that out, go figure.) When my fuel mileage can range from 10.2 to 23, I really kinda like to know how much I've got.

I don't think that I've ever had the tank down on my 94 XJ.

Gas gauge in the van is all over the place.

Gas gauge in the red jeep sometimes works but usually doesn't.

Gas gauge in the MJ goes backwards and is nowhere near linear, because it's a RENIX sender and an OBD1 gauge.

I've learned to either carry a gas can or simply use the trip-odo and fill up every 200 miles. Sometimes I'm pleasantly surprised by how little it takes to fill it, sometimes I'm not.

It was nothing like that for me. when i test drove it, it was on E. i drove it bout 10-15 miles. then drove it to and from the garbage can emptying the crap that was packed in it for about 3 days. then one day it didn't start. and i left it there for a week.

The gas gauge in my '91 F350 moves so fast at highway speed it is noticeable.
Two 12 gallon tanks.

They did not care about gas mileage back then, gas was $0.95/gallon and diesel was $0.75 for road and $0.55 for off road.

If a candidate wants to do something good for our country, bring back cheap fuel!

Very interesting graph!
Looking at this, perhaps things are not as bad as we think.....
I was going to reply to your first post on the subject with almost exactly this.

Ron Paul made the point that if elected, he'd make it so you could buy a gallon of gas for a dime. When people started making fun of him for it, he mentioned that a dime back 50-60 years ago is worth about a gallon of gas now, after inflation.

To say nothing of the way the CPI has been gamed to make the current rate of inflation look better than it is
