I presently don't want kids, can't afford them, don't have time for them, and I'm single anyways. I don't believe the world needs more people in it, and am not sure I have the responsibility and patience to raise them properly. This Thursday/Friday we have no school because its 'Professional development and Conferences'... Only I don't have any... a Nice 4 day weekend, but the Jeep is dead, so no off-roading... (At one point looking at going to Badlands...)

The following 2 weeks after this, I have 3 conferences and am missing school 4 days...

Quick question,

Is the way the distributor mounts on a 94 and the way the coil dealy on a 2000 go into the block the same? And I can use my 00 head on a older block correct?

The wife's jeep had a cracked piston. I found a complete 94 4.0 with 150k for $150, and i wanna slap that in their with the 00 head so i can get her up and going and rebuild the other motor and get stuff around to use the older head.

Seriously. I work with a lot of the guys in the industry. You bring up peak oil and they just laugh then tell you about their stock options.

These wells out here get low, don't produce as much and then they shut them down. Ten years later when the prices jump they open them back up and guess what? Full of oil again.

It's a myth.

I believe so. The unit on the wife's 01 looks like a distributor with no cap, just wires that come out of it.
 
I'm not sure that it's a myth... the reason they fill back up is the same reason you can keep squeezing water out of a mudhole for a while. You drain the water down at the center, your pump runs dry, you go elsewhere. The water level equalizes again when left alone for a while, and now you can pump more out. It doesn't mean the ground is magically producing more oil or anything of that nature, it's just that more slowly flows down to where the well can extract it.

Same way we extract bitumen from tar sands via steam injection. There's only so much you can get to with the steam and the well - the problem is, bitumen doesn't flow anywhere near as fast as oil does, so on the time scale we care about, whatever comes out of the well the first time is what we get, the rest is inaccessible. That's one reason the Athabascan tar sands are being mined instead of being drilled.

Who knows how many times you can do that? I sure don't. Eventually, we will run out, though I believe it will be a lot longer till we run out than the "experts" (at least, the ones that push for cap and tax, etc :rolleyes:) say it will be.

In a perfect world, I'd say we should not use oil as fuel, since it's better used as synthetic materials and plastics, but this isn't a perfect world and never will be.
 
Briggs and Stratton finally gave me an account to access their curriculum, online courses&exams and online videos...

HELL FREAKING YEAH!!!!!

I really, really, really, really, really, really want to start the class over, these videos and courses are so much better than the materials I currently have. I can also register my students as 'technicians' and have them take their online exams and I can access the grades!

Now, I'm not lazy, but I have 5 preps (different classes) I need to do, everyday, which more than most normal teachers who only focus on one subject. I will take 'freebie' lessons, videos, and exams when possible because I can then focus on doing better all around cause I have more time.

eventually we will run out of oil. it is not infinite. some day it will cost more to pull the oil out than its wroth and then we have issues. maybe 5 years maybe 50 who knows, but it will happen.

our population spiked after oil was discovered and the industrial boom took over the world. without an equally impressive replacement our population will drop back to its original state. the last 1oo or so years on the earth population scale is just a burp.

then you have me:wave: im in the educational program to try and help with this issue. obviously im not here to say drive a Prius instead of a jeep because my jeep is my gas saver compared to my dodge. but what i hope to help provide the world with is more options equal to or better than oil.
