Is it legal to open carry in Chicago? The guy running the parking lot just down from the sox stadium had a pistol on his side.

It is hardly legal to own a gun in Illinois at all. Illinois is the only state with no carry permit!

Yes huge legal red flag if you use homemade or modified rounds...... Lawyer will paint the picture that "you loaded round x to increase damage" etc etc. Opens you up to civil and criminal penalties if they make that case......I only carry loads with FBI test data, remington golden sabre or the hornady critical duty and defense. If its good enough for the FBI an attorney can't use it against you, and millions of dollars of ballistic testing research are already done for you.
A lot of the non duty loads are the same catridge as a "duty" load, just less power because it doesn't have to pass all the obstacle tests (glass plywood etc) that an FBI load has to pass
Slugs are a no no in the house......pheasant load in my 20, enough oz. For damage but weak drywall penetration

As for carry ammo, I carry Hornady critical defense. I think it will work if I ever need it!
slugs and other "personal defense" rounds are terribly expensive.
range time with cheap walmart shotshells that mimic expensive slugs would be pretty sweet.

Id take an AA-12 Over a Saiga any day .
FPS Russia did a Video with it and could hold it full auto one handed..
He tried it with the Saiga and it didn't work well.

I suppose it is efficient for practice and funzies.
I have Win Rangers and CorBon for my .40. Haven't used many yet. Got the idea of how they shoot at the range and left it at that. Praying to continue not using them.
I use the Hornady Critical Defense in my .380. They don't pass the FBI tests because of penetration, but a .380 never will.
you do the youtube in the [] box, then all the gibberish in the link after the = symbol, followed by the [/yt] box with the full word youtube after the slash. I had to break it down in this manner so it wouldn't show the empty white box.
