Important

normally i dont agree....i dont give my opponent the advantage of hearing me load my weapon....but i dont keep one in the tube. I do however keep the firing pin in the the "fired" position so i dont have to futz with the action lock, grab and go.

short"grip it and rip it"xjdoug

speaking of home defense prep..... i need a better way to secure the boomstick. anyone have any wall mounts or something of that nature they prefer, i dont keep stuff under the bed since we have a zoo of pets and my handgun is holstered in the drawer when im at home, need a good way to secure longarms when theyre out of the safe

This is how I keep mine as well. My AK action isn't nearly as attention grabbing as a 500A1 or ever better, racking a round on a 930 spx :D

The shotguns are the only guns I don't keep a round chambered on though

7 in the tube....not because i'm a bad shot, so i have 6 left for accomplices

Knowing what I know now, I wouldn't have bought the 18.5" model. I would have bought a 20" with the extended mag tube. You live and learn. More is always better.

Bicycle hooks on the wall. holds a shotgun nicely.

That is sweet!

the only concern is he's cutting the shells to do it. Which means the hull goes down the tube.

I'm thinking of just opening up the top and sealing the upper half of the shell with wax. That way the hull stays intact, you get 1/2 the pellets as a "safety slug" and the rest as just regular shot controlled by the wad.

you'll have to make it up to Justin's for test shooting.

Took my Grandpa's Ward's Hercules double barrel shotgun to a gun shop to have it looked at. 1st goal is to see if can be operated safely. If it can, I am hoping he can find a new stock for it (new used stock to match the old one would be nice). I would love to be able to fire something that my Grandpa fired, my dad fired, and now I fired.

While there, looked at other fire arms he had in his home business (he is working on getting a shop opened up in the next few weeks). He had three P22's there, but I couldn't get a price as he didn't have them marked yet. He had one I loved, instead of straight black like mine, it was like this.

Joking I asked him if he would do a straight trade. He also had many shotguns, rifles, a couple AK's, complete AR 15's (he had one for around 700), and ar lowers. He had a few Taurus Judge's also.

I like the color, but green is a color I like. I did like the P22's with the stainless slide also.
