Important

We also have the option of doing that with our AC. It shuts off the compressor but keeps the blower running. Since the coil stays cool for a bit after the compressor shuts off, you really should not notice the shutdown. I am actually looking at a thermostat that does that for me, on my end, I would rather not give the utility the ability.

There are only 2 solutions however to the problem of brown outs, build more plants, or convince people to use less power during time of demand that cannot be met be generation.

In this area, natural gas powered turbines can provide additional local capacity to offset demand, but they still take some time to bring online. Remember that power is not stored, it has to be generated when it is used, generate too much and it goes to waste and cost money, too little and you get brownouts. The load needs to be "forecast" in advance so the power suppliers can plan to generate X amount and Y time.

I'm not letting the utility company control my a/c for a measly $40 a year in savings...

Yea my problems are solved!!!

a Mr. samuel kofi atta mills. son of the late ghanaian president. wants to transfer 98 million US dollars into my bank.

Parting out my jeep was a terrible idea. I should have just gave it away. It would have been way less work and profit wouldn't change that much.

I've parted four out now. Two of my own and two I bought just to part out. My first one I didn't make much because most of it went to my second one. When I parted #2 out I made quite a bit but the last two....both bone stock, one 99 and one 00 I made a killing off of. The 99 I paid $650 and sold $2500 wort of parts. The 00 I paid $750 for and made $4250 in parts.

What rev says is likely true. It will cut your AC compressor off, but since your thermostat is still calling for cooling it will run the inside fan.

you know it. You're all jealous of my length and weight.

that doesn't work out too well. Eventually they learn english, then they want half.

true story, happened to a guy I know here in town. She was smoking hot though.

Eddie Murphy has the same thoughts:

Weight and how long your legs are. You can be tall with a long torso and fit fine but if you are all leg you might have issues.

Jennie fits @ 6' and mostly legs ;)

He said he'll trade for something of roughly similar value that's easier to sell...

So I guess that depends on how beat up it is!

Edit: though he's probably already had every a-hole on craigslist trying to trade him stuff for it...

I'd trade the ZJ for it, but I would have to give up creature comforts, 4 more cylinders and seating for 5. Not sure I can justify that no matter how hard I try.

Phooey on the power company.......
I am very curious to see what our electric bills will look like when we get settled.
We like our house cool as well, usually around 68°.

So I found the local Northern Tool store today after work... Turns out its right on my daily commute, just hidden behind some other buildings...

I really want to make a trailer now... But could also use that money toward a truck... Or bills...

No more school makes me really want to finish a lot of plans I started before during...

meh ive just accepted that when i build something im going to lose my ass....parting it out is like using lube, selling it whole is dry, your getting screwed either way ;)

experience has told me that if your gonna part it just tear it all apart to components from the get-go....no package deals at the flip flop fab garage, no "yeah i just have to pull it", you want it you add the total up and bring green paper

I'm with you... If I had alternative living quarters I trade the Waggy for it in a minute. But momma would string me up.

haven't heard if there was a deal struck with the 4xbird...

I wish my brother would pay attention to important stuff like where my fire extinguisher is. The coil in the stove caught on fire apparently and he ran out to my jeep to get my extinguisher. Its always been under my front seat and he's looking in the back....luckily it went out and no worries. Yes, I know we need one in the house and that will be corrected.

truck guys...need some opinions

i have 8 bolt axles for the truck im building...what size rim would be best to have. i currently have 16x8 cragar soft 8's that are 8 bolt...but i RARELY see used 16" tires (looking for 285 75 16)...i do see a lot of 17 and 18 inch tires of the same size for sale on clist. im would love to buy new when the time comes, but i can also see myself finding a good used set of tires. seems like guys are always dumping tires to upgrade to a more aggressive or bigger tires for their trucks here...

would i be better off with a different size rim? i know new tires of the 16" variety would probably be the cheapest. i've tried to find 8 bolt 15", but they are not easy to find :( then i could just interchange the 33's with my xj since that is what my next set will be.
