Actually managed to be able to watch Extreme 4x4 this morning. Ian was building up an XJ on the "cheap." Deaver leaf springs? Not so cheap. $1800 in an 8.8 without disc brakes?! Sure, it's got the Super 88 kit, 4.88s and an ARB, but damn! That's just stupid!
And just so everyone knows, the "D30 shouldn't be locked on 33s unless you have alloy shafts"...Though I think he was just saying stuff like that for total beginners.
He did give some good advice. After painting this XJ camo, he said "You may not like the color combination we chose, but for under $25 you can have a paint job that looks this good with other colors. And if you dent it on the trail, remember, that's alright."
This doesn't look like the same show I watched today, but it's the same Jeep. The hitch doesn't seem to be in the way of anything. It's mounted high in the bumper. Can't be too bad.is that the one with the receiver mounted front hitch?

Anybody use Chevy brake lines in the front if their xj?
Yup. They are attached to my chevy calipers.
I have found that as long as the banjo bolt fits and the other end matches you are fine.
I still need to fix the A/C in the Monte.
I'm sure it will cost twice as much as planned
man we have identical montes
i bought an ac compressor last summer and planning on it going in this summer
bought a second mower today to speed up the mowing of 5+ acres fo yard, I'll be damned if the hydrostat went out within 30 minutes. I called the shop and they closed at noon today...so Monday morning we will be paying them a visit. Sucks balls, but hope they will stand behind it since they said "if there are any problems, bring it back"
Cheese "that is what I get for buying a used mower" Man
I have a lawn service mow my yard.
that way I can spend my time doing important things like drinking beer while watching them mow my yard
I don't think I could even turn that around in my yard. A walk-behind 22" mower does my lawn in about 55 minutes.Pull behind multi-reel mower. Best $1500 you'll ever spend. Lap the blades twice a year with lapping compound and go mow 12 feet at a time.

Dad picked up a used Kubota estate mower a few years ago. Holy cow, can you cover ground on that in a hurry. The farm yard is a couple of acres.
