Important

I still need to fix the A/C in the Monte.

I'm sure it will cost twice as much as planned

I ordered a rebuilt ac compressor and it came with everything that need to be replaced with it for $140 to my door from ebay. talked a local shop into doing the install. Total was $480, now I have enough left over for airbags or.......maybe a rear steer axle.....

^ agreed. I don't like coil buckets with a flat bottom, it makes em try to scoot sideways and stuff. I might just be a picky bastard.

no your correct, i had those brackets on my old 44 and no matter how hard you cranked em down the coils slid off, i just added 4 tabs to keep it from sliding...

Should have told me. I would have traded out labor for steel goodies :D

Pulled a 11 hour stint at work tonight (fifth 10.5+ day this week). Half an hour before I was set to leave I was dead on my feet. Quitting time rolled around and I really wanted a beer (or five), but being 2:10 am I was not able to get to an establishment in time nor purchase any to bring home. Now I sit here, unable to sleep, sober and buying jeep parts.

I had my pandora tuned darn well... recently it hit the "learned too much and getting stupider" point and started playing dubstep.

Was listening to my three days grace station the other day and Adele started playing...........

I had trouble with slacker working for a while. It may be better now but Pandora is just fine for me.

anyone know a part name/number for the plate above the tranny mount on an xj? the one with the rubber grommet in in that holds the exhaust hanger from the downpipe? mine is all rounded out and i want to replace it, but i cant find a part number on rock auto. i may have to resort to a jy, but i would rather not be in the same boat in a few months. long story short, my exhaust rattled around in there too much and eventually ripped a hole in the downpipe right where the hanger was welded on...oops...i want to get a new downpipe, but i don't want it to break again in a few months. my exhaust takes a beating on my jeep...more so than anything else....

Actually managed to be able to watch Extreme 4x4 this morning. Ian was building up an XJ on the "cheap." Deaver leaf springs? Not so cheap. $1800 in an 8.8 without disc brakes?! Sure, it's got the Super 88 kit, 4.88s and an ARB, but damn! That's just stupid!

And just so everyone knows, the "D30 shouldn't be locked on 33s unless you have alloy shafts"...Though I think he was just saying stuff like that for total beginners.

He did give some good advice. After painting this XJ camo, he said "You may not like the color combination we chose, but for under $25 you can have a paint job that looks this good with other colors. And if you dent it on the trail, remember, that's alright."
