Important

A hoosier will be playing in the Superbowl. Steve Weatherford is from Terre Haute and graduated from TH North in 2001 (myself from South in the same year). So excited for him and hope he gets a ring. Pretty sure if he does, I got a chance to see it because I know he will come to my work.

Just get a newer half ton truck.......

Durangos???????

What's everybody's thoughts on them?

Eyeballing this one.

Aaaaaaaaaaand Cue Samset...........

I was already waiting for it.

Anybody tow with one. And it wont get lifted like samset's!!!

:wave1:
imo that is some high miles for that price. unless it has already had the trans overhauled it would be going any day. mine has 135k and i think i could maybe get 3 grand for it and its a lil nicer than that(i keep it clean as sheet)

you need to find out what motor also. mine has the 5.9 and im pretty confident it would make a decent tow rig. but not sure on the smaller motors. mac has towed with his Dakota which is basically they same thing.

IMO durango would be better that a WJ, they are pretty nice and very roomy and comfy while providing style, class and power.

SAM' I know a good forum 'SET

Pretty sure the RT's have the 5.9 and are 2wd

oh and eat fuel like a sonofabitch

A 5.9 durango will tow your stuff just fine. Its heavy enough that it will do a good job. My 5.2 Dakoka did fine as well, but it just wasn't heavy enough, got pushed around a bit more than I was comfortable with.

Beezil towed his stuff with a 4.7 Durango, and I know another person that towed with a 5.9 Durango and it did fine as well.

5.9/5.2 like to eat intake gaskets, but chances are with that kind of mileage its already had one. I would save for a trans rebuild if it hasn't been done already.

Just need a weight distribution hitch.

Gas mileage will suck on anything with a v8.

mac 'plus you can camp in it' gyvr

Well i dont want either of those options lol. Thining i may expand what I'm looking for.

If i had to do it all over again i would get the exact same thing.
99 durango SLT plus 4x4 5.9l 3rd row seating rear a/c everything.

but yea ford makes nice trucks.

if im reading you right, your looking for a family hauler that would do some towing for you?
ford also makes 4door trucks but you'll pay for them. you can get a nice durango cheap these days, cuz they do not get good gas mileage no matter what engine they have. like i said tho that one is a bit old to have that price. i'd pay 3 grand for one with around 150k but i would still want the 99.
