Important

I'm sure they will if the adjuster is decent. Hell, I was given 350 dollars to fix a mildly warped and scuffed stock front bumper and replace a pair of $50 chinese ebay fog lights last time I was in a collision that wasn't my fault. I called up and said "idiot backed into me while parking, here's their plate number, don't care about the bumper, cut me a check for 50 bucks for a new set of crappy fog lights and I'm happy" and they told me they couldn't do that and they had to send an adjuster. I shut up real fast and didn't contest their damage assessment.

Long story short., yes I need to get the spare fixed and up for sale.

Well, think of me. Shoot me a pm to discuss more.

Have the insurance co cut you a check for the repairs, it will be less than what it would cost to have a body shop fix, but they pay for all parts and time. I've always fixed my own and always come out with cash in pocket.

I intend to, the biggest thing I need to find is a loaded header panel. I hope.

Looks like I might be joining the 97+ xj world. Found a 97 for DIRT cheap with a bad motor. I have two motors ready for install so that is not a problem. Now, the jeep I am looking at is almost rust free and is light blue, the wifes favorite xj color.
So, should we switch jeeps and I get her dark red one and she gets the blue one? Or do I keep with the theme of a big blue jeep behind a big blue van? LOL :D What's a guy to do!!!!

You make the blue one the trail rig, but V-8 the bitch.

Any of you guys ever seen any threads (NAXJA or elsewhere) about a 4.7 V8 from a WJ being installed in an XJ/MJ?

I have not but I know who's going to be looking for the info! :D

I actually looked at it, cause I was thinking if there was a 4.7 v8 left over from this deal I might try to put it in my popcan...

There is a $400 core on this motor. I don't know yet what is damaged. I plan to put the reman motor together thursday and install it Fri. Maybe this weekend I'll get the old one on the stand and see what is up. That said, this is a very hi tech (read expensive) motor. Over head cam, three timing chains, $2100 (you can buy a 100k LS motor for cheaper than a 100k 4.7)is a good deal on a rebuild. For that I'll stick to a 302 swap with a tried and true push rod engine...if I put something other than a 4.0 in my jeeps...unless I can find a good deal on an LS motor.

And we haven't even considered a computer to run it or a trans to go behind it.

mac 'but if you did it, it would be cool' gyvr

Thought you might chime in since you are BD in the 4.7. Motor, computer,
trans, tcase already in possession from a soon-to-be-retired donor WJ. Mostly curious to see if we can learn from others' experiences...

Just sent an email here at work saying I want to apply for a position that will be opening up. It will mean I will be working weekends and will have to do things on my days off (Thursdays & Fridays). It is the next step in my career in television.

And I forgot to mention, the job duties is something I could do now if I had to in an emergency.

I know it can be done. With all those pieces and parts it would be more appealing. There is alot going on in the engine bay of these WJ's. They are way more cramped. Tho I'm used to working on 4.0s.

If the motor is good...and going to be good for a while...

C4C drove the value up...

Totalled, bought back, need to get it home now and tear stuff apart.

Everything is lining up...it will be done. The goal is to transfer as many features and as much functionality as possible over to the MJ. There will hopefully be a build thread starting in the near future. Should be a very cool resto-mod DD MJ.
