The things we do to change oil...

Starting Christmas lights today. Will not turn them on till after Christmas. Tired of deep snow and highs of <20 degrees to put up some damn lights. Would rather be working on my Jeep but awaiting parts from Advance.

Nice new stairwell going in... :(

Think it will hold? Some type of epoxy at the corners. No sign of weld.

you'd be surprised at the strength of some of the structural epoxies.

now, did they prep it properly before they glued it is the bigger question to ask....

Tell me about it. They used one while I was in the Air Force for attaching tethers for tools on the missile silo. Heat released them but otherwise a dab of the size of a half dollar would hold over 150lbs. after curing.

No lights for us this year, even w/o the broken body we decided to skip. I took last years down in mid summer.

Will like the "its in" pic better.

We were gonna try to get it back in tomorrow. Decided that it was going to take a couple days to get some parts...the oil pan needs replacing, its rusting...and some other misc parts that come with swapping a motor out.

Hoping for the its in pic next friday or saturday.

Grace wants to put them up now...but not turn them on for a couple weeks...

Josh, if your employer is sketchy with payroll, I don't know that it matters if it's a paper check, or a direct deposit. The employer can tag a direct deposit transaction for pretty much any date they want. At least with a check, the date means relatively little, you should be able to present it for service at any time (subject to the stale check issue.) Personally, I haven't gotten a paper check for payroll since 1994.

Mac, didn't the reman engine come with a good oil pan?

And there's a cream ale, and an American brown (clone of Big Sky's Moose Drool) brewing right now. Spectacular weather for mid-November, light breeze, light overcast and around 60 degrees.

I also doubt that it matters. Again, with trying to be diplomatic, trust is a bit of an issue with the frequency of miscalculated compensation. I'd rather them be able to take a paper check back than tell me that I'm up sh!t creek because I've "already cashed" it with direct deposit. There could certainly be some legal dancing and hassle I could go through with that since I wouldn't be surprised if they pulled that on someone, but I'd just rather not go through the experience.

Big Stank and I had a mini wrenchfest today. He relocated his front flares and rotated my tires. Then we noticed that one of the hoses under my hood had been touching the hood. Thats when we found this:

I guess that I should count myself fortunate, I don't recall ever having a miscalculated paycheck (I've also spent a fair amount of time doing payroll system maintenance & development.) It's also been 25 years since I drew an hourly paycheck.

So, any idea why your paychecks are coming out wrong? Are your hours getting mis-entered, or is something going wrong during the payroll execution?

Front flares kept trying to fly off at speeds over 140mph. Decided it was time to move them up just a little. They ended up moving 1.5 inches up and a huge amount of fender ended up coming off.

Clearance behind the front tires is much better than the picture portrays

Thanks to Flex for bringing Dr Pepper.

Driveway wrench-fest completed... Fender relocation / Flex's Tire Rotation / Two motor mounts on Flex's rig.

That's all, Thanks.

You oughta be able to do a buck-80 or a buck-90 without them suckers coming off now, they are on there good.

BS post, XJ's won't do 140mph downhill with a hurricane trail wind :D

Looks nice. Did you sand and seal the cut edges to prevent rust? If so, what did you use?
