Important

well, the jeep is almost back together after 3 days of thrashing. :repair:

what i got now is an 89 renix block, with a 94 HO head and a 96 intake. :farmer:

i made it all jive using some creative engineering, thank god i have the capacity of abstract thought.

the problem now is i have the serpentine setup that of a 97 and up. it seems that 89-ish renix blocks had an extra tab on the timing cover, the 97 and newer doesnt. thus, when i route the belt 97 and up style, the belt is intercepted by the extra tab. soooo im thinking of hacking that little extra tab off so the serpantine belt can go onto the crank pulley correctly. any thoughts?

I think if you can make that combo work together, you can figure out what to do to make your belt work :D

I like your attitude, glad we met at WF and if you ever need anything, get ahold of me.

You're a good kid under all that moonshine :D

My mom is going to get her van Monday! After all the hassle that happened this whole week. I imagine I am going to use about 15 dollars or more in fuel I normally wouldn't used driving 30 minutes one way to take my mom and sister to their babysitting job yesterday, today and Monday.

Hopefully next weekend I can start working on the van.

Things I got to do to it.
*fix radio (it will drain the battery if the fuse is not pulled)
*fix a seat belt
*clean, clean clean (going to take the seats out in the back and use a carpet cleaner on them and on the floor, going to be a multi day, deep clean).

You're talking about the tab at the 2 o clock next to the crank pulley? You can cut that off. IIRC it's just there for a timing light reference.

sweetness.

Who is Candi, and why did you lock her up ? pics or it didn't happen

Let me rephrase.

none of the hillbillies selling used trailers around here do maintenance. I'll be damned if I get a "deal" on a trailer and spend a fotune on new hubs/brakes/tires and have what a new one would have cost me.

Ding Ding Ding... The reason that when I got mine, I bought new. Spend $600 on a trailer... instantly invest another $1000 into getting it up to par. Or go buy a new one for $1600 and not have to do all the work... Every single used one we looked at needed everything replaced or redone. New one.. heck the trailer shop asked what kind of wiring plug my truck had so I could just hook up when I got there. I brought the wrong sized ball with me, so they gave me a correct one rather than having to pay extra.

How's that ?

Once you learn that "flex" is not the ultimate goal on your offroad suspension, you start to wheel controlled and effectively.

Controlling the way your suspension reacts to terrain is the goal. My heep certainly isn't set up perfect, but installing the antirock made the front predictable and I think much better than it was before.

I think I'[ll get 4 working shocks first, then I'll think about anti sway front and rear.
Previsouly my stiff as shit leaf packs controlled the body nicely. now that it's all stupid flexible front and rear it's a little unsettling with the body roll.

Also, someone wanted this Dana 35 Detroit I have. Who was it? I found it on a shelf the other night. It is Dana 35 non-c clip.

sweet! good work getting the jeep back together! The first winterfest weekend I had my jeep for about 2 months...I put it in a mud hole and blew it up...I had mine running in a week with a junk yard motor...that was 11 years ago...

disco I think you're ok too...in fact I made it a goal for this winterfest to figure out who you and poorboy were...mainly because your posts make me laugh...

While do so, noticed how bad my rear leaf is. When I buy a lift, going to need to buy a kit with new rear leaf springs.

Also, soldered my cb radio up, but I think my plug for my power port is dead. When I put a multi meter on the ends the other day, it didn't read any volts. Thought maybe it had to be wired up to work so I did my first solder job on something I am actually using. I learned how to do it in high school, but haven't done it since.
