Actually, I'm 100% with Palm Beach here. This has NOTHING to do with respect for the flag. It has to do with respect for the laws in place; written for a reason and not to be trifled with just because you're rich. He cheapens true patriotism and love for his country by using Old Glory to defend his own lawbreaking, anti-American actions...
He could just as easily applied for a variance and gone through the proper channels to try to erect it first, what he's doing is disrespectful to his locality...
One more reason for me not to respect that man...

If he had not made it in real estate he probably would own one or more of those car dealerships with the 80ft flag pole, money doe not = taste.
