Just put a 4wd tranny/xfercase in. Not gonna make much difference. Just make sure you grab the rear driveshaft too. Just don't forget to put the t-case in 2hi...

I have one from my old '00 sitting in my parents shed in NY, right on the jersey border. Don't know anything about the condition of it though as I bought the Jeep and immediately swapped it to 4wd. Free if you want it

I drove it around the driveway but it had a broken pinion so I didn't get a clear impression

They are in greenwood lake, NY. I live in Maine so I'd have to coordinate something with them, though I'll be there the 19th-24th
