it really depends on the bar itself.... some are advertised as 0" - 6" and some say 3" - 6"... etc.... plenty of used ones laying around in garages.. sell it to make a few $$

Sure it will work, but you may have to shorten it. Not a problem since it's adjustable.

Many of the adjustable units for sale these days are for 3+ of lift...any less lift and it's too long. Depends on the Bar you have.
