so for any one who follows the news, there as been a few blips of some pay issues for me and my fellow service members.

like no pay at all. do not pass go. do collect 200 bucks. but go to work anyway.

now if this happens it is going to cripple my hopes of ANY runs with the jeep. as it stands iv had to postpone my cage with Tyler.

is there any one who knows more on this subject? i know that its a pretty good possibility that is VERY real threat coming down thanks to our wonderful government.

so any one know more?

If you're thinking of the pending gov shutdown and the related article in the military times I wouldn't worry too much.
The military times is trash and pay didn't stop during the last "shut down" in the 90's. I doubt seriously it will stop this time either.

i know it didnt in the 90s, because they went out of their way to make sure we still got paid right? its my understanding that no such provisions are being made this go round.

any ways i did dig some more and find that a 3 week extension has been made so that means i have for sure one more sissy ass paycheck inbound. should make for some slim pickins in the coming weeks/ months.

hope for best but be prepared for the worst right?

Vote republican in 2012, our current leadership(or lack there of) sucks! But don't feel too bad, I just went 3 years with no pay increase all the while my company cut our work force by 25% and increased our production demands by 30% which we somehow met. My wife has gone 4 years with no pay raise as a RN for a local school system.

Its tough all over but there is no excuse for not paying our troops for their service and sacrificeatriot:

Without getting too far into politics this is my opinion-
The military times is owned by Gannett and many people see them as having a somewhat liberal slant.
The dems are trying to get a lot of spending left on the table and the repubs are trying to cut a lot. Sooo the dems would like to put pressure on the repubs by getting the Military fired up by talking about holding back pay. Repubs love the Military so if they get a little heat from you guys then they might well let more of the dems spending stay on the table. What better way for them to turn up the heat than to leak this scenario to a publication widely read by the Military.

Once again, and in my opinion only- the dems are playing politics with the Military. Regardless, I don't think you guys will miss any pay.

Honestly, I have no idea. I'm pretty new to XJ ownership. I've owned Jeeps in the past but the most off road I've done was around the farm. Unless you count some of the driving I did in the Army.:gee:

Government shutdowns do not effect Military Personnel, or fbi or a bunch of other agencies. This has been in effect since the 80s.

first i heard about this, im deployed now, red sea, we just made the suez transit for the 3rd time, at about 1.2 million, no BS there, its hard to understand why we pay so much, and whats more, we was in here, and had to escort a sub out, then came back in. Dont forget if you do run into money troubles, we do have the Navy and Marine Corp relief program, i borrowed money off them to replace the engine in my jeep back in december. Last I heardof this was about 3 years ago i think, the Army was going to borrow Navy money to pay their people. I dont think its something to worry about, we'll get paid. xjtrailrider says it best, vote Republican, if Im not mistaken, i believe we wont get a annual pay raise for 3 years, or, under this "commander in chief" (loosly spoken)...

Hyjack! The only legal public place left in North Carolina is Uwharrie I think. it is in Troy, NC. That being said there are other small to medium private places to wheel in NC.

I'm not South East Chapter but I am military. The article in the Air Force Times said if there's a goverment shut down, the military MAY have to work without getting paid. But as soon as a budget is passed we will get back pay. So the worst you're looking at is a couple week delay in 1 paycheck. and if it does happen the public outcry should be big enough to force the federal government to pass a budget ASAP.

If you can't afford a couple week delay look into the relief program that shawnhancel mentioned

This whole situation sucks, I dont think well get the missed check but the last thing I read in the army times was that if we did, it would be one pay day and then on the following we would get back pay for the missed one. So it would suck for a bit but hey its life and some times we just gotta take shit. I know that it would suck but Im not going to stop serving my country just cause some dumb ass rich guys cant decide whos money is whos and what should go where. Were all gonna be chinese soon any way thanks to our current and last leaders. But by the way Im Charley Ogden.
