I motion

The only reason the super secret squirel site was created was so that certain banned members could participate in NAXJA affairs. It was very simply a snub at the NAXJA BOD at the time. It has served it's purpose.
This statement really really bothers me.
The more I thought about it last night, the more it bothered me....
When MWXJ was set up, I was the president of the Midwest Chapter.
Anything that has to do with the Chapter would have, and still does, go through me first.
Therefore, I, MYSELF, would have been snubbing MY nose at the mothership.
Is this the type of person you think I am?

I hope people don't think of me as someone who would "snub" my nose at authority.

Kind of an oxmoron if you think about it....

Now ME, on the other hand... :greensmok

Perhaps the idea of having to be voted in to the "members" area of MWXJ should be rethought.

MWXJ has a members area?

:roflmao: :roflmao:

a lot of newer members have come on board without being lead to MWXJ. Perhaps the idea of having to be voted in to the "members" area of MWXJ should be rethought.

It's basically our clubhouse and I still feel it has a place.
The time may have come to make it easier for new members to access it, however.

Kid4lyf is right. As a new member of NAXJA in general (not paid yet,got laid off) It took a while to figure the sight out as far as where you can post certain things. I found the midwest chapter like two weeks ago and find myself browsing this forum atleast 50% of my time on NAXJA. I think there should be some kind of link or posting thats easy to find about MWXJ. Now that I know about it I will start to check it for new news. This is the first forum I've ever really participated on and I enjoy it, but its like being the new kid in school. Its kinda intimidating trying to be the new kid that wants to become friends with the cool kids that already have a click going thats been together for a long time. Does that make sense? I guess what I'm saying is "IF YOU ADVERTISE, THEY WILL COME!" Take care guys and dont let this discussion get to heated and break bonds between states. You guys have a good thing going here and I look forward to meeting all of you in the future. -Shaun

Welcome to the boards...

A friendly reminder that until you become a paid member...

You a new USER of NAXJA.

Peace-

I think most would agree that MWXJ is our "club house" if you will. It's also sort of an unwritten rule, that to get in the "club house" a campfire attendance is required, then the voting thing happens. Now, that may be out of the question for Joe Blow to make a campfire, Joe is in Timbuktu and just can't make a campfire. IMHO, sorry. His loss. It's our "Club House" we'll play by our rules. Brad is correct in that some day the time may come to make it easier to access the members area. Now is not that time.
I guess it's back to the "Why fix it if it ain't broke." philosophy for me.

JMHO.

This whole post bugs the pi$$ out of me for some reason. The whole clubhouse thing is BS.

I have been to several campfires and never knew there was a members area in the midwestxj site. IF you want people to use the site why not make it more accessible.

Les,
I thought CF was a sanctioned run for some reason.....sorry about using that as an example.

All,
If resources are an issue I volunteer to help MOD the trail runs section if it is created.

Therein lies the problem.
The origional torchbearers, myself included, have failed in our responsibility to bring newer members into the fold properly.
That is my reasoning for considering a rethink on the current rules for MWXJ membership.
Something needs to change if we are excluding members who belong there just because we aren't keeping up to date on things.

Then again, I don't know Brianho personally. Maybe he's an asshat who has been shut out on purpose. :D

Don't get me wrong, I am an asshat and proud of it;) .

The Midwest XJ site is open to ALL members of the MWC.

Go there, PM Randy (InterpdXJ) for access.

I agree a failure was made to properly inform all MWC members of the site, hopefully we can move past this and grow as a chapter.

JMHO

BTW - Brain is a stand-up guy, and not an asshat...at least no more then the rest of us. :D

I didn't realize MWXJ was such a big secret. It's not like it's being hid from everyone. I didn't really think it was that big of a deal. It's not like there is any thing super secret in there.
I still stand by my original post though. Just my opinoin.

I would also like to motion for a wheeling / get together forum. It would be nice to know that you could plan an wheeling trip, or get together far in advance and people would be able to check and discuss the event without the worry of it making it a couple pages back. Also this would make it easier for newbs to find out whats going on near them or local rides.

Brian this should speed up the process. Two members motioning is the requirement in the by-laws. So PASS....FAIL....or TABLE for thirty days please.:D

Thanks

We needed something to start the last MWC campfire.
It seemed appropriate.

We adopted the national by-laws to four our chapter.
There is another set in the works, they will be done this fall.

Can I get an update on the original request?
This was talked about by the MWC BOD and it was decided to keep the MWC forum here as is.
This stems from a decision made by the national BOD this spring where the Arizona Chapter wanted their own land use forum. The request was denied stating that the national BOD did not want the boards "stunk up" with a hundred sub forums.

We, the MWC BOD has since made MWXJ more accessible for every MWC member to see.

Please feel free to post up your local runs there and please, by all means, check often to see what's happn'n in your area!
