I just got a $535 ticket

agreed. There is nothing bad in my jeep; just rope, tow straps, and stereo stuff, and a fire extinguisher.

do you really want to be on the side of the road in the dark reinstalling your seats and door panels and having to replace the ones they broke in the process of rippiing them apart?

If they went as far as breaking my vehicle arent you allowed to sue for damages?

Well I'd rather not get a bunch of expensive tickets. I really doubt that a cop would do that to me though...I just try not to give the cops any reason to think I have anything in my Jeep, other then tools.

or you build a box that straps under the jeep infront of the gas tank that you keep your good shit hidden in....:)

I have no expirence with this btw.....hahahaha

But on the flip side I have been asked by the fuzz if they can search my jeep. I said hell no! I told him, my glove box is locked and you need a cause to search without a warrent. He then said ok. walked around my jeep (visual inspection of the inside) came back to the window and said have a good day... This has happened to me before.

It makes me wonder, why waste your time with me, when I know i need mud flaps or dumb shit like that when grand theft is taking place down the road or someone is being robbed....Thanks Mr. Officer but I didnt know i needed mud flaps. It came off the lot like this i swear!

What has always worked for me when I get pulled over for illegal items on (or the lack of) my jeep I just play dumb and it works all the time!!

Officer: Are you aware that your liscence plate light is out?
Me: Why no i dont sir? Thats odd, because I just got that fixed a week ago, had the same problem
Officer: Well you need to take care of that again, you also need mud flaps on this vehicle
Me: Thats where I just came from! I was just at NAPA buying mud flaps, but in order for them to be legeal they have to be 3" from the center of the axle right?
Officer: Yes
Me: thats what I thought, well NAPA didnt have them in stock and am getting them shipped to me in the next two weeks...
Officer: Well thats a start. I'm glad to see you are taking steps to make your vehicle safer.
Officer: The last thing I have to mention is that your taillight is broken and the white bulb is visible
Me: Really? (I step out of the Jeep to look) How would I go about fixing it temporarily?
Officer: Cover the hole up with red tape.
Me: I will do that when I get home.
Officer: I'm going to let you off with written warnings on these infractions, I suggest you get them taken care of.
Me: thank you officer, i will be sure to take care of these problems. Have a great day and continue to do your job effectively.....:firedevil

True story. Thats happened to me 4 times. Play retarded and you get off everytime :) :)

So cops should break the law to enforce it? You know they need probable cause to run those plates, right? :viking:

That's not true, you don't need PC to run someone's plates. And as far as "breaking the law to enforce it", how can they enforce the law without "breaking it"?

I got sick of getting pulled over because I was driving someone elses car that because they got a dui and had a suspended liscnese they could not drive, but somehow weekly I would get pulled over by the same officers usually on sherwood and newberg and they always said the same thing when I asked them why I was pulled over, "the owner of the vehicle has a suspended liscense". ok, I understand that, but do I really need to explain to you again that I am not 48 years old, I am not 5 ft tall 100lbs, I do not look like an elf? I am 23, 6ft tall and 300 lbs, to which the officers would generally reply something along the lines of, well I saw a male driving the car so I had to pull you over to check.

And not a single time would the officer answer the simple question, why did you run the plates and pull me over i nthe first place? much less every week or so for over a god damn year.

X2

I'm With Keil on this...Some douche tried to cross the street one night infron of me and i didn't stop for then (this was at night and he was wearing dark clothes) and he was like "did you see the pedestrian?" then i pulled a keil and was like"no sir i did not" and pulled that whole gig.

Well first of all, I'd like to challenge you to guess somebody's height while they're driving a car. And second of all, the officers don't know what the person that the car is registered to looks like, all they know is that the owner of the vehicle is suspended and sometimes the sex of the owner. Even if they did know the exact height and weight of the person they wouldn't have time to reflect on whether or not the person driving the car was 5' or 6' tall and/or how much they weigh. You've got to stop and realize that it's not an easy job they have. However, I do realize that that's not an excuse for the crappy cops out there. And thirdly, if they've REALLY been pulling you over every week for a year (which I think *might* be a little bit of an exageration ;)) then you have a strong case for harassment, get ahold of chief and let him know what's goin on.

works everytime bro......just be weeee tad ded... hahaha

Yeah uhh good one.

Half the crap you have gotten pulled over is easily fixed though, seriously. You didn't have a front plate for months because you didn't feel like putting it on last winter after you made your bumper. I remember you leaving your soccer game and getting pulled over a block away by the cops and then a few other occasions.

BTW you have a front plate yet?:laugh3:

The officer that was pulling me over nearly weekly is not longer there, medically dissabled for a heart condition is what one of his coworkers (my neighbor) told me, I guess from what I was told the guy was getting 1-3 complaints a week against him for bs like stopping people repeatedly bs tickets etc.

Help... I need mud flaps, flares and a bulb for my rear license plate... where do I get them?

On my way home early this evening driving in the line of traffic I noticed the sherrif waiting to pull out of a gas station. I openned a gap and tried to wave him in. He waved me by and pulled out behind me. About two miles down the road pulls me over. Anyway none of this is relevant... if anyone ever wants to hear a jackass cop story I have one :)

Where do I get the removable mud flaps?

Cheers,
Matt

At Trail Flaps by offroad innovations. They sell them at Central Four Wheel drive. I talked to the owner of ORI for like 30 minutes about them. Im ordering my set tonight.
